After the Mercedes C-Class Coupé renderings, here are the first spy shots of the new member of the C-Class family, that should arrive sometime in the course of 2011. The new coupé will join the sedan and wagon models, and will replace the CLC model. It will occupy a slightly different segment than that model, competing with the BMW 3 Series coupé and the Audi A5. The coupé follows a stylistic change towards a more balanced and smooth model with sports feel.
The C-Class Coupé should have a choice of four and six-cylinder engine options ranging between 156 and 231 hp. An AMG version with a 5.5-litre V8 hasn’t been confirmed. The coupé will share the same technical platform as the sedan model with slight changes to the front nose and bonnet area in line with current style. According to reports, we could see a cabriolet version appear based on the two-door model about four years after the launch of the coupé.
