It’s official: the Aston Martin V8 Vantage SP10 - a special version of the V8 Vantage S inspired by the race car competing in various GT4 Championships - will be officially unveiled at the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show (March 7-17) and judging by this first bunch of pictures, it is going to be a very aggressive and showy Aston. The designers of the British brand just thought it was a good to pay homage to their own competition model, which has scored no less than 24 wins and 48 podiums in just 39 races of the VLN championship.
The V8 Vantage SP10 will be available in Coupe and Volante body styles and equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine credited with an output of 436 hp and 490 Nm of peak torque and can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed sequential Sportshift II gearbox. As for the performance of this stunning SP10, Aston Martin claims a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph), the performance V8 Vantage SP10 combines a world-class content.
Aston Martin will offer both variants of the SP10 with a Ceramic Grey Metallic paint option only, with the convertible top of the Roadster finished in Titan Grey. The model will use 19-inch cast alloy rims with V-shaped spokes painted in high-gloss black, same color of the brake calipers.
The passenger compartment is obviously as luxurious as you might expect: the Coupe features the characteristic Vantage S seats and backrest covers and a sporty steering wheel in Black Alcantara, with silver stitching and a roof liner also in Black Alcantara. The Roadster features black leather seat and backrest covers as well as a black leather steering wheel, also with silver stitching. Both versions come with the same centre console in Piano Black. The instrument panel is trimmed entirely with leather and embellished with silver stitching.
Standard equipment includes electrically operated seats, satellite navigation, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity and a 750 watt audio system. The list of the optional extras include rear parking camera, sports suspension (for the Coupe), bucket seats in carbon fiber and 1000 watt sound system courtesy of Bang & Olufsen, which guarantees many as 1,000 watts of power. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage SP10 will soon be on sale at a starting price of € 96,635 (plus taxes).
