The Mercedes G-Class, or G-Wagen, will soldier on into the next decade with some new updates. Set to make a 2010 Paris Motor Show debut, the G-Class could get new lights, bumpers and other exterior features while keeping its distinctive box shape. The inside could get a total overhaul, most likely making it more luxurious and bringing it up-to-date with new age entertainment and technological solutions.
The big updates to the G-Wagen will take place on the engine front, bringing the range into line with Euro 5 regulations. The 5.4-litre V8 will continue until it’s replaced by the new twin-turbo, 5.5 V8 with direct injection. The move marks a change from the G55 AMG label to a new G63 AMG name.
