Volkswagen Kai-Nalu design study

When you say something like Mediterranean waves inspired an automobile design, you might be expecting something hippy, but this Volkswagen Kai-Nalu is anything but. It’s been created by design student Josep Ferriol from Spain, and is part of a thesis project. The design shows a flowing glass section reflecting the sea and a chunky base inspired by rocks.

Viewed in the light of a legitimate design proposal for a future car, it looks like a deliberate attempt at controversial attention seeking, but this muscle coupe look has been created as a stylised figure to help it stand out. Other elements include a clear roof and a hypothetical electric dual-motor drivetrain.
