The new Volkswagen Passat has been spied again, this time in sedan version, which could have its world premiere this year, possibly at the Paris motor show. The front and rear of the Passat are camouflaged, and it’s said that the front will be similar to the Phaeton restyling which was presented at the 2010 Beijing auto show.
The Passat sedan will have added features like Dynamic Light Assist and Lane Departure Warning, but the big news is the debut of the 2.0-litre BiTDI engine. The twin turbo diesel will be capable of 220 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
Other engine options will include the 1.2 TSI with 105 hp, which will replace the 1.6-litre unit with 102 hp. It will be the entry level fuel option, followed by the 1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TSI. The 1.4-litre option will also appear in EcoFuel version, and the top of the range model will be a V6 3.6-litre model with 300 hp.
