Official data is out and the answer is: “No, the Koenigsegg CCX is no Veyron-beater, in the top speed stakes”.
Koenigsegg declares a top speed of “more than 395 km/h”, while Bugatti can claim 407 km/h. The 0-100 km/h sprint (3.2 seconds) is slower too.
What the Koenigsegg has is the best power/weight ratio: the car weighs 1.180 kg and the 4.6 liters engine has 806 bhp / 920 Nm. The CCX needs only 9.9 seconds to cover the quarter mile from a standstill, with an end speed of 235 km/h. From 100-0 km/h it needs only 31 meters. Last, the useless fuel consumption data: 17 liters / 100 km.
