This is the first image Hyundai have released of a car they hope will propel the brand towards the premium end of the market. According to their press release this is “a glimpse into future Hyundai premium vehicle design, advanced 3D gesture-based technology controls, and spirited driving dynamics”.
The HCD-14 concept is named after the Hyundai’s California Design studio that created it and is the 14th design to make it to concept. It’s believed to represent the shape of the next generation Genesis saloon. Although the current model’s not on sale in the UK, Hyundai plan to launch the saloon in the UK.
The manufacturer’s UK managing director Tony Whitehorn told press that both the Genesis and Equus saloons will be sold in the UK but added, “We need to be careful with our product launches. You can’t just go from budget to premium. You have to take it slowly.”
South Korea’s largest car maker will reveal the concept on 14th January at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, at which time we should be able to bring you more information on the concept and the company’s future plans.
