The BMW 5-Series GT is new to the market, but new versions could be on the way to make it a more affordable option. Autocar reports that a new twin-turbo diesel unit could be included in the range, once it’s established. A four-cylinder diesel is also being considered, which could be the 320d unit at 175 hp, making both these options entry-level models for the range.
The plan seems to be to drop the price tag of the 5-Series GT, which currently stands at about 40,000 pounds in the UK, to make it more accessible. According to reports, a possible M5 GT has now been discarded, with the top-of-the-range model being the 550i version, equipped with a 4.4i twin turbo at 407 hp.
