These two renders of the new Alfa Romeo 169 show the sedan that will appear in 2011, according to the latest information regarding Alfa’s future release plans. The Alfa 169 should share the chassis of the new generation Chrysler 300C, and will have rear wheel drive - a decision generally prohibited by purist Alfa fans.
The new 169 should prove to be a pillar on which Alfa will base its return to the US market (planned for 2012). It will have to be perfect in every way, and pleasing to the American public. The look takes on a coupe-sedan look, described as “8C-Competizione oriented”, which adopts a similar look to an Audi A5 sportback or even the new Jaguar XJ.
The Alfa MiTo and Milano have also taken on new Alfa styles, and the 166 should also improve on the current Alfa sedan look. These are only renderings though, and the interior is also unknown. Based on what the Milano is likely to have, we could see something more minimalist than the 166 but it will depend on how family-oriented the 169 will be.

One draws or “renders”, a verb, a sketch. Upon its completion, the finished drawing is referred to as a “rendering”, a noun.
