Sometimes manufacturers want to keep a lid on the look of their new car until the official launch, on other occasions they’re happy to drum up trade by ‘leaking’ images online. We can’t see Bentley in need of attention, so have to assume that these images, which first appeared on Flickr last week, came from an unofficial source.
They show the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible in the sort of environment it will become accustomed to. As these are unofficial shots we’ve got no details on the specs, but we expect the drop-top Bentley to use a front mounted W12 with 616 horsepower mated to an eight-speed box. There should be a top speed of 200mph and a 0 to 62mph time of less than 4.0 seconds.
We will have to wait until the 2013 Detroit Auto Show for official images and further information. Hopefully the soft-top on display in the motor city won’t be shown in the garish purple we see here.
