French carmaker Renault is at the 2012 Bologna Motor Show to showcase the new Clio as well as the station wagon variant of the popular hatch, the Renault Clio Sport Tourer. These two models are collecting the most attention at the Renault’s stall in Bologna, but the Italian crowd did not overlook the two new all-electric models from Renault, the Twizy and the Zoe, which are also making an appearance at the event.
The new Renault Clio is offered on the Italian market with two petrol engines, the three-cylinder 1.0-litre TCe delivering 90 hp and the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre, producing 75 hp, while on the diesel side there’s a 1.5-liter dCi unit, credited with an output of 90 hp. All these engines will also be available for the station wagon variant. The new generation of the Renault Clio, launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, will soon be enriched by a proper sporty variant, the Renault Clio RS, that will come with automatic transmission and a 1.6 Turbocharged unit generating 200 hp and 240 Nm of torque.
The French manufacturer is definitely focusing on new alternative formulas for its products, as demonstrated by the latest additions to its electric range: the Renault Zoe, a small and sinuous hatchback, and the Renault Twizy, a simple city car that presents itself as the ideal solution to dribble urban traffic.
