Peugeot has been testing its Audi TT rival, with the Peugeot 308 RC Z seen in these shots. The final version will be equipped with a 1.6 litre turbo engine from Mini Cooper JCW. It will have 218 hp, and while it is mostly similar to the concept car presented at the Frankfurt show in 2007, it’s slightly modified in the headlights and around the sides.
The Peugeot RC Z will cost around 23,500 euros and while it won’t really challenge the TT all wheel drives with its front wheel drive option, it will be a more attractive price point. The base model will have a 1.6 litre THP engine at 150 hp which currently equips the 207 150 GT.
A 2.0 litre HDI new generation is also likely to be available at either 150 hp or 163 hp, and all engine options will be matched with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The final version, with its production name, will be presented at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show.
