At the Los Angeles Auto Show 2012, among the many new cars displayed by South Korean brand Hyundai, there is also the new Hyundai Santa Fe in its seven-seat configuration. This particular variant of the Hyundai Santa Fe is being presented in California in its final version, with a longer wheelbase and more generous dimensions, enough to comfortably accommodate seven passengers, though you would need to sacrifice part of the cargo space in the trunk to set up the last row of seats.
The third bench is still foldable and can hide inside the luggage compartment, creating a perfectly flat load floor that can thus contain a good amount of luggage. By lengthening the wheelbase and external dimensions, the passengers seating in the second row can enjoy greater comfort, especially as far as leg-room is concerned.
Aesthetically, the 7 seater is very similar to the ‘regular’ 5-seat Santa Fe, even in the passenger compartment. External measured aside, the main differences between the two configurations lie in the new front grille, the revised C-pillar and the different 18-inch alloy wheels. As for now the model is intended for the US market only, where it will be powered by a 3.3-liter V6 credited with an output of 290 horsepower and 250 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission. The model will be made available in both front- and all-wheel drive variants.
