Smart takes the stand at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show to introduce a couple of new vehicles. Among them, the most interesting model is undoubtedly the special edition made by Jeremy Scott and named after him, Smart forjeremy. The fashion designer has given the super compact city car a pair of its trademark wings, which appears as extended rocket-like tail-lights. The car expresses the concept of lightness and joy of living.
Based on the Smart fortwo electric drive, the new forjeremy features a luxurious passenger compartment with white quilted leather for upholstery and door panels, high-tech dashboard with chrome-accents details and elegant white accessories. Surprisingly this eccentric model will be introduced on the market next year as a special limited edition.
In addition to this particular model, the German brand also presented in Los Angeles the classic Smart fortwo electric drive, which is equipped with an electric motor, powered by a 17.6 kWh battery, that produces 75 hp. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 4.8 seconds and can travel up to 145 km (90 miles) between charges, which is enough for most urban journeys.
