Just like the BMW 3-series coupe/convertible will be called 4 series when it will eventually hit the market, the former 1-series coupe/convertible will apparently be re-dubbed ‘2-series’ - which will go on to replace the old 1-Series two-door model - and today we can show you the very first images of the BMW 2 series convertible out on its first test on public roads.
As we can see from these pictures, the guys from the BMW test team were not that lucky in terms of weather conditions, but nonetheless we can apprerciate the silohuette of the upgoing range in its converible configuration. Looking at it, we detect softer and more rounded lines, with the front grille that might be smaller than the range it will soon replace (though it’s still quite disguised).
The brand new BMW 2series range will obviously share all of the engines and transmission options with the 1-series, and should end up being a little more expensive than the outgoing family of models.
