Skoda has released the first official photos of the Roomster. The main changes of the production version over the concept seem to be the “normal” rear doors, and the fact that the production version has a symmetrical body.

The Roomster is an MPV that uses the Fabia platform with the rear axle from the Octavia, it is 4.21 meters long and 1.61 meters high, the wheelbase is 2.62 meters long. The rear seat has a flexible configuration: the cargo capacity varies from 460 liters to 1,780 liters.

The gasoline engines include a 3 cylinder 1.2 engine with 65 hp/112 Nm, a 1.4 engine with 86 hp/126 Nm and a 1.6 engine with 105 hp/155 Nm. The diesel engines include the 1.4 three cylinder engine with two power steps (70 hp/155 Nm and 80 hp/195 Nm) and the 1.9 TDI with 105 hp/240 Nm. With this last engine the Roomster has a top speed of 184 km/h and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 11.5 seconds.

The Roomster should be on sale in the main European markets after the next summer, with prices between 14-15,000 and 21,000 € [Details from Autoweek.nl e Autotelegraaf.nl].
