Chevrolet has released a new official video teaser featuring the 2014 Corvette C7, which will be unveiled on the 13th January 2013. However, the short clip shows very few details of the car, being more focused on the design language and technologies that have influenced the production version of the American supercar, some of which are quite futuristic and innovative.
Under the hood of the car lies the new 6.2-litre V8 engine, the LT1, which is the fifth generation of the Small Block line-up and is credited with output of 455 hp and 610 Nm (19 hp and 35 Nm more than those offered on the current 6.2-litre LS3). The LT1 has active fuel management system, which shuts down four cylinders when the engine is idling. The Corvette C7 is expected to cover the 0-96 km / h in less than 4 seconds and to consume 9 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres, reducing pollutant emissions.
