The Peugeot 3008 is appearing around Europe, with availability startin in Italy in mid-May. While the Hymotion4 hybrid is expected in 2011, in the meantime we will see a 1.6 Vti engine at 120 and 150 hp (starting at 22,000 euros). There will also be a 1.6 litre HDI 110 hp at 23,900 euros and a 2.0 litre HDI at 150 hp.

Among the technical aspects is front wheel drive and manual transmission, with automatic transmission planned for later with the 2.0 HDI at 163 hp and the 1.6 litre HDI at 110 hp, capable of CO2 emissions of just 130 g/km.

Peugeot plans that diesel units will be of a particular request with 90,000 diesels of the total production planned for Europe in the next year. With the C segment of particular importance for Peugeot, the 308 model range will be broadened next autumn with a new 5-7 seater which appear alongside the 3008 Crossover model.
