The Alfa Romeo museum at Legnano was opened to the public on the weekend, with 40 historic models from Alfa on display. The museum has been put together by the Cozzi dealership, the oldest Alfa Romeo dealership in the world, in operation from 1955.
The family who manages the Cozzi dealership has saved various vintage Alfa models, including guest star from the Alfa museum in Arese, the 8C 2300 Monza type from 1931 that was driven to victory by Tazio Nuvolari. The collection also includes a 2500 Super Sport Pininfarina from 1950, and a 156 V6 Busso from 1999.
Passionate Alfa fans will find it hard to resist this museum. In the words of Orazio Satta Puglia, Alfa engineer from 1946 to 1974, “The passion for Alfa Romeo is a kind of disease.” This new Alfa collection is not just about famous historic models, but the everyday experience of customers and families, and their Alfas.
This first gallery of the Alfa museum is dedicated to models from the 50’s and 60’s, concluding with the Montreal V8 from 1971, which was the swan song for a certain Alfa Romeo period. An upcoming gallery will show Alfa models from the 70’s to the 90’s. Enjoy!
