The Th!nk electric city car will be produced and built in the US from 2011 in a move that should help turn around the fortunes of this car, after production was stopped due to the recession. Talks are being held with various states in America to build a plant, where up to 300 people will be employed in producing 16,000 vehicles.
If all goes well, those figures should increase up to 700 workers and 70,000 vehicles in 2012. The model to be produced will be the Th!nk City, a few examples of which will be imported to introduce it to the market. It is a two-seater model with a range of 180 km, maximum speed of 100 km/hr and a cost of less than 20,000 USD.
Added to this cost is about 90 dollars a month which covers hiring the batteries. No mention has been made of the Ox concept so far, which may require more investment than currently is available. Just wonder though, that Th!nk will come to the US as a product that was originally conceived of by Ford.
