At the 2012 Sao Paulo Motor Show (22nd October to 4th November) Volkswagen has displayed the newly revised Gol, offered in three-door variant and in-line with the company’s current stylistic language, introduced by the recently restyled five-door version. Volkswagen Gol is characterised by a new front featuring a redesigned bumper, revised headlights and tail-lights and electric door mirrors with integrated directional lights. All these elements in conjunction with a slenderer outline give the new three-door Gol a more captivating and absolutely sportier look.
The new Volkswagen Gol is expected to further prop up the sales of what has been the most successful car in Brazil in the past 25 years, and to win yet another ‘best-selling car’ title in 2012. The three-door and five-door versions are underpinned by the PQ24 platform, the same that belonged to the Fox, and enhanced with some modern components from the current PQ25. The hatchback will be available with a 1.0-litre bi-fuel engine and with a more powerful 1.6-litre, which can be mated to a semi-automatic transmission as optional.
