Audi Roadjet Concept

The Audi Roadjet concept is a 5 door crossover, similar to the A3 Sportback but quite a bit bigger, with a 3.2 liter V6 FSI engin that outputs 300 hp coupled to a 7 gear DSG transmission.

The Roadjet has the usual big single frame grille of the latest Audi concepts and the all too familiar fender-integrated exhaust tubes, seen in many concepts but in almost no production car. Nothing original in the rest of the body, with lines already seen in quite a number of other cars.

The novelties are under the skin, with a variety of electronic systems that will be adopted in future Audis.

For example, a car-to-car communication system, or Audi Drive Select, a system to control various car settings at the touch of a button (steering, suspensions, gearbox response and injection mapping)to adapt the car’s behavior to the driver and to the situation:

Dimensions: 4.70 meters long, 1.85 meters wide and 1.55 meters high, wheelbase is 2.85 meters with very shor overhangs and a spacious cockpit, with 4 individual seats and an espresso machine in the rear armrest (?!?!).

The 3.2 liters V6 FSI engine has gained 45 hp more than the current version (300 hp, now) mainly thanks to heightened rotation regimes (maximum power is at 7.500 rpm), torque is 330 Nm at 4.500 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, top speed is 250 km/h. Though it has more power, it weighs more and it has a bigger front surface than an Audi A4 3.2, consumption is lower
