The 2009 Geneva motor show will see the debut of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4. This is the latest evolution in the Italian supercar which will be a kind of “Ultimate Edition” before saying farewell to the car, planned for 2011.
Despite this swan song, plenty of new features have been included including up to 670hp of power from the V12 engine. The weight will be down by about 100 kg compared to the LP640, thanks to greater use of lighter materials. The rear will sport a large carbon fibre spoiler and the all wheel drive featured has been confirmed.
Other modifications recall the Gallardo Superleggera, with internal carbon fibre features, alloy wheels and carbon ceramic brakes. The transmission will also be made from magnesium, rather than alluminium, with the shift time split from 0.4 to just 0.2 seconds.
The heir to the Murcielago will be presented after 2011. Currently called Jota, it is still in development phase.
