Peugeot has made a bad move in Brazil when it decided to name 207 the facelift it has given 206. It was almost as if it did not believe Brazilian customers knew it has a much bigger and better car in Europe with the same name (or wished for it). Even so, there is at least one product of the family that could receive that name, since it does not exist in Europe nor in any other part of the world. And this product is yet to be presented, but we already have an image of it with the help of our reader Bruno Francisco da Silva. He has managed to photograph the new small pick-up truck Peugeot is developing in Brazil, based on 206 (or 207, if you prefer…).
The picture has been taken in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, a city that is close to Porto Real, where Peugeot and Citroën have their Brazilian plant. There is not too much information around about the new small pick-up truck, but it will surely use the same engines available in Brazil, or else, a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre flex engines. Since 207 Pick-Up will be exported, it will also present diesel engines, probably the same ones offered by Peugeot in 207, or else, a 70 bhp 1.9-litre and a 90 bhp 2-litre HDI powerplants.
The official presentation of the new small pick-up truck is expected to happen in the second half of 2009.
