At the Detroit show Lamborghini has revealed its 2008 Lamborghini sales record, showing another record year for the company. Despite the economic downturn, a new sales record was reached with president Stephan Winkelmann announcing a one percent increase on 2007 numbers, for a total of 2,430 cars.
The figures can be attributed to growth in the Middle East and Asia markets, with stable sales in Europe and even a 10 percent increase in Italy. Less rosy were sales figures in the US, with a slight drop in numbers. Winkelmann has said that Lamborghini is not impervious to the crisis in the economy, but their plans to present a new product every year and broaden the distribution network is standing them in good stead.
