Chevrolet has revealed a surprise for the upcoming Detroit show, with General Motors design chief Ed Welburn showing a video teaser of the front of the Chevrolet Beat on NBC television. The Beat is the fruit of a prototype dating back to April 2007 and should be the second debut GM plans for the auto show, after the Cadillac SRX.
In contrast to what was initially though, the Beat will most likely be manufactured for the US market as well; a tangible sign that the American car market has certainly changed over the last couple of years.
In the countries in which production is planned, sales are set to commence at the beginning of 2010 at a price slightly higher than the Aveo. This date could possibly be anticipated, but we’ll wait for details from the Detroit show.
