Google Video has the Top Gear test of the Pagani Zonda F.

La Zonda F is the current record holder of the power lap time on Top Gear’s test track: it has half a second on the Maserati MC12 and 0.6 seconds on the Ferrari Enzo. That’s an incredible result, given that the Mercedes-derived 7.3 liters V12 of the Zonda F has 50 hp less than the Ferrari/Maserati sisters …

Anyway, the top 4 of the “power lap times” scoreboard has an important lesson: it isn’t necessary to spend more than half a million euro to to have a car that can play with these sacred monsters. The Ariel Atom (500 kg, 300 cv, 50.000 €) is right up there. Top Gear’s Atom video, with Clarkson’s face deformed by the wind is exhilarating: “This car goes like nothing you can possibly imagine …” (you can download another version, 48 MB).
