Audi S4: new photo gallery

Posted: Friday 24 October 2008 by Alison

There’s a lot of substance, and not much smoke, to the new Audi S4 presentation, with its sober but elegantly sportive aspect. There are a few slight touches to distinguish it from the normal A4 models, with alloy wheels, two threatening exhausts and a lowered base.

One of the most-talked about engines makes its debut under the bonnet, with Audi trusting a compressor to bring up the power, which sits nicely at 333hp and 450Nm of torque between 2,900 and 5,300 rpm. The optional QVT system is brought to light with the all-wheel drive.

One of the serious points about this car is the reduced emissions and better fuel efficiency: for the sedan 9.7 litres/km, for the Avant 9.9 litres. Not bad at all when you think that this car can cover from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.1 seconds.

The S4 has some impressive electronics with steering response control, engine and suspension-control, and a twin-clutch transmission that will even regulate the rear differentiator. We wait for official pricing and availability details, while enjoying this photo gallery of the new Audi.
