As previously reported, Toyota will show up at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show to introduce the new Auris, the new C-segment model from the Japanese giant that uses all the stylistic elements adopted by the carmaker for its most recent products. The new Auris looks more dynamic and sportier than the outgoing generation thanks to the exterior styling, which also includes modern day time running LED lights and a huge panoramic glass. In this new set of images we can better appreciate the new design of this hatchback, which was developed to maximize its aerodynamic efficiency.
Engine range will made of two diesel and two petrol units as well as a full hybrid powertrain, meaning that the new generation of the Auris will offer several different versions whose power will range from 90 to 136 horsepower. All these units will be mated with a brand new 6-speed transmission which will help keeping its CO2 emission down.
The interior offers high quality materials and plenty of space for people and things alike, with a load capacity of no less than 1335 liters when the rear bench of seats is folded. In Europe, 10 exterior colours will be available with foue new shades: Avant-Garde Bronze, Dark Steel, Blue and Pearl White, with the latter that can be chosen for Auris Hybrid only. The new Auris range will be built by Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK at the Burnaston factory in Derbyshire - the same one that assembles the Avensis - reinforcing the company’s commitment to its European operations.
