In occasion of the Hannover show, Fiat will present its methane Natural Power from Fiorino and Ducato versions, but also its Fiorino Cargo Electric concept, which is an interesting insight into the near future of electric cars, and Fiat’s direction in this sector.
The prototype has been created by Fiat research centres in collaboration with Micro-Vett. It is equipped with an electric engine that has a power of 30kW, with a peak of 60kW, and torque between between 130 and 260 Nm. The maximum weight is 450kg.
Performance should include acceleration between 0 and 50 km/hr at 6.4 seconds and a maximum speed of more than 100km/hr. The batteries are lithium ion and are positioned at three different places in the vehicle to optimise balance. They last around 100km and can be recharged with both a normal household power outlet in about six to eight hours, or with a 9kW power outlet in about three hours.
