Bugatti releases more info about the 16C Galibier, the much-hyped new model from the legendary French/German carmaker. Big news is: the model will have more than 1,000 hp generated by a frightening 8.0-liter W16 Flex Fuel engine. This unit will have to use no less than eight titanium mufflers for bringing the gases generated by the combustion toward the rear end of the car, allowing the luxurious 4-door saloon to reach astonishingly high performance.
Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer said the Galibier will have a top speed of more than 378 km/h (about 235 mph) and will be “faster than anything currently on the market.” With such a statement coming from the mainman himself, we can safely assume that the upcoming model will meet the high expectations surrounding its development, and it is likely to go on to position itself at the very top of its segment in terms of both sheer performance and luxury of the interior fittings.
Dürheimer also added that, as for now, Bugatti’s real priority is in fact sheer power, stating that the development of a hybrid powertrain is currently not in the plans. As for when the definitive version of the 16C Galibier will eventually see the light of the day, no official statement has been released, but according to some reports the car should make its debut on the market in late 2014 / early 2015. Here’s a bunch of new images the model that will join the mighty Veyron in Bugatti’s line-up, but in case you missed it, right after the jump there’s an interesting official video starring the upcoming 16C Galibier that got released just a while ago: check them all out.
