Less than two weeks ago, we reported on the imminent arrival of the new Subaru Impreza WRX and GT, and now we see all the photos and official specs on these new versions.

The WRX has made a good step ahead compared to the previous generaiton: with more power, more driving feel and mean look, it has really turned itself into a sports car. The Impreza GT is decidedly more laid back, with a four speed automatic transmission.

The new WRX will have all of 265hp at 6000 revs/min, 40 more than the previous version. The net power gain has been obtained thanks to the work of a bigger turbocharger, larger exhaust and a more permissive cataliser. The contraposed cylinders are combined with a five speed manual transmission. The GT’s 2.5 boxer turbocompressed engine has an output of 225hp at 5,200 revs, the same power as the previous WRX.

The most intriguing of the new Subaru offering is, without a doubt, the new WRX. Improvements in handling have been achieved through larger tyres at 225/40-17 compared to the 205/50-17 of the previous generation.

Steering has been refined to adapt to better road grip, and we can note the work done on the suspensions as well with more rigidity at the front of 43 percent, and 42 percent at the rear. Stabiliser bars are up by one millimetre each with 21mm thickness for the front and 16mm for the rear.

On the outside the WRX stands out for its grill, rear spoiler and diffuser which mirror the mean look of the WRX STi, while the interior has carbon elements, red stitching and leather steering wheel, putting a sporty mark on the car.
