The boxer six cylinder from the M97 family, currently equipped with the GT3, turbo and GT2 with disappear from the 911 range to create space for the new A91, ambassador of the direct injection engines that debuted on the sports restyling in Stuttgart.

The three supercars deriving from the 997 will receive their updates at the end of the year, with the presentation of the new aesthetic modifications, which should be minimal. In addition to improving engine performance in terms of emissions and fuel consumption, the new injection system will give some added horse power grunt, between 15 and 20 extra. This means that we should soon see a turbo at 500hp and a GT2 at 550 hp…

The new units, while maintaining the 3.6 litres, have different bore and stroke values at 97mm and 81.5 respectively (changed from 100 and 76.4), giving some added torque. The aspirated GT3 will also get some updates, with internal components looking to make it lighter and more resistance, and with some added power, reaching 430hp.
