After the launch of the updated Carrera and Carrera S models, including the Carrera 4 range, it’s now the turn of the Porsche 997 Targa. The modifications reflect those of the other models, including new spoilers, front headlights, direct injection engines at 345 and 385 hp, twin clutch PDK transmission and new optionals.
The 997 Targa is available only in the 4 and 4S versions, with PTM electronic controlled integrated traction, and the glass roof divided into two sections which can be electronically opened in seven seconds. Compared to the other versions, the rear window can be opened.
The performance is pretty much the same as the coupè and cabriolet: 284 and 297 km/hr of maximum speed based on the engine, and acceleration to 100km/hr achieved in 5.2 or 4.7 seconds, based on poewr and type of transmission. Thanks to direct injection the consumption has dropped on average about 11 percent, as per the emissions too.
