Nuova Porsche 911 (998?)

Being a “legend” gives you certain privileges and responsibilities: like preserving good looks and physical rigour, sex appeal, and battling against adversaries. Especially if, after 40 years of age, you’ve got some new technology up your sleeve that will keep you in youthful ways. And so Porsche is undertaking tests on the 911 to determine its future road.

The modifications on the Carrera post-restyling show an evident increase in bodywork aspects, including a roll bar and rear spoiler which contribute to a more dynamic driving feel.

World Car Fans has suggested the name of 998, but that and other changes are still unknown as details of the next Carrera have not yet been released. Though we can glean some ideas from the focus that the re-designers will have: for example increasing power when making the engine as clean as possible. In any case, we’ve still got two long years to wait as any debut is unlikely before 2011.

I feel very sorry for those Porsche engineers; every day you have to go in to work to try to improve perfection!
