New official videos dedicated to the Toyota GT 86, the latest Japanese sports car built in collaboration with Subaru (that owns a twin sister version of the model, called BRZ). The car boasts an extremely low weight and low center of gravity combined with a 4-cylinder boxer naturally aspirated engine with 200 hp: the perfect recipe to ensure the greatest driving pleasure!

Toyota has released a video on the new Venza, displayed at the last New York Auto Show, which shows the main features of the car. The engines range is the same as the previous version: a 2.7-litre four-cylinder unit delivering 181 hp and 246 Nm of torque and the sportier 3.5-litre V6 with an output of 268 hp and 333 Nm. Both versions come with either front or all-wheel drive, coupled to an automatic sequential six-speed transmission.

The updated exterior design boasts a new upper and front grille, new headlights and mirrors, slightly modified bumpers and some chrome accents. The restyled inside features, among other technological solutions, Toyota’s Entune package that integrates your smartphone with the dashboard display.

Toyota is expected to launch a convertible version of the GT 86 between late 2013 and early 2014. To further support the news, Car and Driver has published an article where an official source has finally confirmed recent rumours about Toyota GT 86 Convertible.

The Cabrio version of the GT 86 will probably mount the same 2.0-litre boxer naturally aspirated D4-S developed with Subaru. The power output of 200 hp and 205 Nm is transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual or automatic transmission, both with 6-speed. The power delivered is not of the highest, but the lightness of the car makes it exciting to drive and responsive in every situation, both on the track and on the road.

The GT 86 coupe with manual transmission, sprints from standstill to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds achieving a top speed of 226 km/h, while the six-speed automatic model covers the 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, with a maximum speed of 210 km/h.

The new Toyota Land Cruiser V8 is a vehicle dedicated to all off-road lovers looking for a comfortable and convenient car, without having to compromise on off-road appearance. The Toyota Land Cruiser V8 my2012 is powered by a 4.5-litre D4-D diesel engine, with output of 272hp delivered at 3,600 rpm, with maximum torque of 650 Nm delivered between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm.

The car is 4.95 m long and the total weight is 2,625 kg: the average fuel consumption is 9.5 litres per 100 km, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The updated V8 diesel engine has lost 14 hp, slowing down the 0-100 km/h of 0.7 seconds, despite so the top speed is 210 km/h.

The passenger compartment is comfortable and cozy and is enriched with a variety of tech goodies and custom accessories to personalise the car. Toyota Land Cruiser V8 features the Crawl Control system that automatically controls the vehicle’s engine and brakes when driving on steep or rough terrain.

During the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, which runs from April 25th to May 2nd at the China International Exhibition Center, Toyota will present three world premieres. Among these newcomers there is the Yundong Shuangqing, a concept car designed and built for China alone, equipped with a hybrid system mainly developed by the R & D center for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing. Also the Toyota Dear Qin, a prototype with a particular design, created to expand the Brand’s audience of customers.

Last but not least, is the Toyota GT86: a sports car with rear-wheel drive, specially designed to offer greater entertainment and driving pleasure. At the Chinese event the Japanese manufacturer will be displaying 38 vehicles, between prototypes and production models, including the special Welcab, with tailor-made specification for disabled.

In a recent interview Toyota Motor Corporation President, Akio Toyoda, said: “We are gradually starting to see the results of our reform efforts” and also added he will personally work alongside their Chinese partners to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction for their and the rest of the global markets.

Toyota has released a new video of the Yaris Hybrid, presented at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The car, which uses the latest evolution of the HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) platform, is equipped with a 1.5-litre VVT-i petrol engine mated to an electric motor and battery pack located beneath the rear seat. The total output produced by the vehicle, in combined cycle sum up to 100 hp.

Toyota declares fuel consumption figures of 79 g/Km of CO2m that qualify the Yaris Hybrid for free road tax and London Congestion Charge exemption. Following tests carried out by the technicians of the Japanese brand, significant data have emerged regarding the performance of the electric motor: the car can travel zero emissions (without operating the petrol engine) 64% of the time for journeys less than 10Km. The battery pack has been reduced in size so that won’t affect the 286 litres of luggage space.

As for the aesthetics we can see a few changes to the front, now more aerodynamic and outlined, sporting a new front grille, modified bumpers and LED daytime headlights. The Toyota Yaris Hybrid is available to order now and will be delivered in July.

Toyota is working on a new supercar with significantly higher performance and even more exclusive than the already exceptional Lexus LFA. Twice the performance means twice the price: in fact the amount requested for the new sports car could be around £500,000 against the £336,000 of the current version and the production will be limited to only 100 units, compared to the 500 of the LFA. This exclusive recipe should make the taste buds of wealthy collectors tingle. No details regards the engine, yet, but it should be expected a far more powerful engine than the roaring 4.8-litre V10 installed on the Japanese supercar. The design might take inspiration from the beautiful LF-LC Concept, but at this point no rumours have been confirmed yet.

Toyota has unveiled the Avalon 2013 at the 2012 New York Auto Show. During the presentation the flagship saloon has been described by Bob Carter, vice president and general manager at Toyota Division Group as “a car that will lead an exciting new era of design and driving excitement” with spacious and elegant interiors and the latest technology. This version has been studied and optimised for the American market, where it will be on sale from the end of the year.

The new edition of the Toyota Avalon is a smaller version of the 2012 and falls below 5m in length and presents a series of structural and technical improvements: a more rigid body structure, electric power steering and suspension tuning. It comes with three driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport.
The aesthetic is complemented by new 17 “or 18″ alloy wheels. The front is characterised by a larger lower grille with Double-eye PES headlights with GID technology; at the rear LED tail lights, integrated rear deck spoiler and dual exhaust pipes convey an aggressive, athletic design.

The Avalon 2013 is also packed with technology-driven safety features, including 10 airbags, blind spot monitor with cross-traffic detection and pre-collision system. Some major improvements on the inside as well: a larger boot, richer upholstery materials, infotainment system with Toyota Entune multimedia and 6.1 “audio display as standard. JBL Synthesis Premium, HDD navigation system with 7″ screen, USB, AUX and three 12V outlets ,dynamic radar cruise control, heated seats and air conditioning as optional.

Building very exciting cars and saving 30% on production costs by sharing more components is Toyota’s new goal. CEO Akio Toyoda explains that the Japanese giant have plan to go back to producing remarkable cars with improved aesthetics and dynamic, not necessarily built in the interests of sales growth. He also added that the previous approach has led Toyota to often produce “bland” cars by an emotional point of view.

It seems that after the completion of the promising GT 86, designed in collaboration with Subaru, the cars built under the new standards will be using the Toyota New Global Architecture, or TNGA (front wheel drive), a platform that enables the Japanese group to develop multiple models simultaneously, maximizing production efficiency.

This promising new work plan will give designers and engineers more creative freedom. Toyota made this crucial decision to avoid being outdated by strong competitors such as Hyundai and Kia, which are extremely skilled in designing very stylish and features-filled vehicles. Honda is also taking the steps towards developing this new framework. The TNGA platform will also enable a lower centre of gravity of the vehicle that will benefit driving pleasure and style.

It’s the latest addition to the Toyota Prius hybrid family. Toyota Prius Plug-in will be on the market from the 9th July priced at £27,895 with the Government’s electric vehicle grant. The car comes in a single equipment specification featuring technologies such as head-up display, Toyota Touch and Go Plus infotainment system with satellite navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth, camera and LED daytime running lights and headlights. The company claims the new Prius CO2 emissions figures at just 49 g/km.

The new lithium ion battery can power the Prius Plug-in electric motor efficiently, allowing the car to travel over much greater distances with zero emissions and better performance. Once the charge is completed the car switches to Hybrid Synergy Drive automatically to extend its autonomy. The battery can be charged through a standard domestic plug or at an on-street charging point. The manufacturer supplies a 5m cable, stored in a special compartment in the boot’s floor, as standard.

The Toyota Prius Plug-in single specification also includes 15 “alloy wheels, DAB digital radio, JBL audio system with eight speakers, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control and heated front seats. Black leather upholstery, rear privacy glass, Protection Pack and Style Pack is offered as option. The bodywork comes in four colours including the new Sky Blue, Tyrol Silver, Novus Grey and White Pearl Pearlescent.

Toyota has released a new official video starring their GT 86, but this time the footage is about the completion of a special version that Gazoo Racing has prepared to take part in the next Japanese Rally Championship. Toyota is yet to release the technical specs of this special model, but they have already announced that it will participate at the next Nurburgring 24 hours as well as a racing version of the Lexus LFA, which will be managed on the track by the same Gazoo Racing Team.

The Toyota GT 86 has been developed together with Subaru and uses a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder boxer engine with D4-S direct injection and capable of delivering over 200 hp. This rear wheel drive model weighs only 1,180 kg, which makes it an extremely precise and funny car to drive.

Toyota has released a new video in which, showing the sinuous lines of the GT 86, claims that the new sports coupe is the result of the brand’s pure passion for cars. Developed together with Subaru, the GT 86 is equipped with a 4-cylinder 2.0-litre boxer engine with direct injection D4-S.

The engine develops 200 hp, transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual or automatic six-speed gearbox. Thanks to a perfectly balanced design, the driving is precise and responsive, making the car extremely fun yet very easy to control.

The car is equipped with 17-inch wheels combined with 215/40 tires, as standard, while 18-inch wheels with larger tires are available as optional. The interior recalls the sports car of the past simple and basic, but with all the options of a modern car, such as air conditioning and a navigation system with infotainment.
