	<p><a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/categoria/porsche">Porsche</a> has released a video of the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/porsche+boxster">Boxster</a>, displayed in public for the first time during the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+geneva+motor+show">2012 Geneva Motor Show</a>.  The mid-mounted sports car from Zuffenhausen has a strong stylistic personality, more defined than the previous version, somewhat inspired by the iconic <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/porsche+carrera">Carrera GT</a>.  Under the hood lies a six-cylinder boxer engine with either a 2.7-litre unit with direct injection and the more powerful 3.4-litre for its S variant.</p>
	<p>The base model develops 10hp more than the previous version, now up to 265hp; while the sportier one delivers 315hp.  Both versions are equipped with a standard six-speed manual transmission although a seven-speed automatic PDK dual-clutch gearbox is available on request.</p>
	<p>The new Boxster, with a lighter overall weight, can cover the 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, 5 seconds flat for the S.  Fuel consumption is claimed at 7.7 l/100Km for the 2.7 litre.  The 3.4-litre, however, consumes an average of 8 litres per 100 km.</p>

	<p><a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/categoria/audi">Audi</a> has released the price list of its new<a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/audi+tt+rs+plus"> TT RS plus</a> Coupe and Roadster, two models even more powerful and more exclusive than the traditional <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/audi+tt">TT</a>.  Prices start from £48,945 to £52,265, £3,085 premium over the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/audi+tt+rs">TT RS</a>, the power has been boosted by 20hp to 360hp and the torque is up by 15 Nm increasing to 465Nm.</p>
	<p>Thanks to the tuned 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine and seven-speed S-Tronic twin-clutch transmission, the Audi TT RS plus can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds for the Coupe and 4.3 seconds of the Roadster.  The maximum speed has been increased from 250 (155mph) to 280km/h (174mph), electronically limited.  Despite these impressive numbers the German carmaker states consumption figures of 8.49 litres for the Coupe and 8.59 litres per 100km for the Roadster.</p>
	<p>Aesthetically, the TT RS plus sports 19-inch five-spoke Rotor alloy wheels, matt aluminum details on the grille, carbon fibre-reinforced polymer door mirrors and blacks oval tailpipe trims.  The sports exhaust system is standard on this model.  Even the engine compartment of the new Audi is finished in carbon.</p>

	<p>In the wake of the announcement that the production of the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/Daihatsu+Copen">Copen</a> is coming to an end, Daihatsu confirmed that a special 10th Anniversary Edition of the model for the Japanese market is in the works. The last version of the well-known little roadster from Daihatsu will be produced in 500 units only and will come with a slew of special bits to emphasize its status as a  celebration car. </p>
	<p>Apart from a few special badges both inside and outside the car the aptly dubbed Daihatsu Copen 10th Anniversary Edition will come with a special set of 15&#8243; alloys courtesy of BBS and a white livery with several chrome details, such as the front grille. Inside we have black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitching,  and more chromed details for the hand-brake lever and door handles. </p>
	<p>As for the powertrain, this final edition of the Copen will be powered by a 660 cc turbocharged engine delivering 63 hp and coupled to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The price for this Daihatsu Copen 10th Anniversary Edition is 1.82 million Yens - roughly 16,700 Euros - for the manual gearbox type, whereas the one with the automatic transmission will cost 20,000 Yens less.</p>

	<p>Mercedes will be at the upcoming <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+new+york+auto+show">New York International Auto Show</a> (April 6-15) with the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+sl+65+amg">SL 65 AMG</a>, which is due to hit the showrooms in November. The model is equipped with the same 6.0-litre twin turbo V12 of the previous version - credited with an output of 630 hp and 1.000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque - coupled with a more efficient and modern 6-speed automatic gearbox, that replaces the old 5-speed one. Appaently, the move will allow the new SL 65 AMG to shave off a few tenth of a second over the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of the model it is about to replace, while fuel consumption will be lower too. The new model will also use three cruising modes: Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport Plus and Manual.</p>
	<p>Weighing in at 1,950 kg, the new SL 65 AMG will be no less than 120 kg lighter than the outgoing generation, thanks for the most part to its brand new aluminum body frame. The model will come with a sporty ABC active suspension system and a new electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, whereas braking will make use of 39 mm steel discs at the front and 36 mm at the rear (although carbon-ceramic discs will also be made available as optional extra) .</p>
	<p>From an aesthetic point of view, the SL 65 AMG uses chrome inserts on the front end, bigger aerodynamic flicks, a brand new set of 19&#8243; alloy wheels (a burnished set will also available as an option) and a bonnet made of carbon fibre, while the passenger compartment gets embellished with a number of steel and carbon elements. The car obviously comes with a number of aid and safety systems, including the Magic Sky Control, the Bang &#038; Olufsen sound system and the clever AirScaft system. 	<p>Mercedes-AMG is embarking on the 2012 roadster season in inimitably dynamic style: following on from the recent launch of the SL 63 AMG, the top eight-cylinder model, there now comes the presentation of the new Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, the V12 roadster in the line-up from the Stuttgart-based manufacturer. The AMG 6.0-litre V12 &#8220;biturbo&#8221; (twin-turbocharged) engine develops a maximum output of 463 kW (630 hp) and maximum torque of 1000 newton metres. The result: exceptional performance, impressive power delivery and effortlessly superior dynamics. As with the SLS AMG super sports car, the use of an all-aluminium bodyshell results in a drastic reduction in weight. The new SL 65 AMG is some 170 kilograms lighter than before. The expressive front section is dominated by the new &#8220;twin blade&#8221; radiator grille and the front apron&#8217;s lower cross strut in high-sheen chrome.</p>
	<p>&#8220;The combination of exclusive V12 dynamic performance and a refined roadster driving experience was already the defining attribute of the predecessor model. We are convinced that, with the new SL 65 AMG, we have developed an incomparably exciting high-performance vehicle for the small, but loyal community of fans&#8221;, says Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.</p>
	<p>An important aspect of the new model is the intelligent lightweight construction which also contributes to reducing the fuel consumption. At 11.6 litres per 100 kilometres (NEDC combined) it represents a saving of 2.4 litres or 17 percent compared with the previous SL 65 AMG and simultaneously establishes a new benchmark in the twelve-cylinder petrol engine segment. A major role in the reduced fuel consumption figures is played by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission, the ECO start/stop function, in-engine measures to optimise efficiency and alternator management. Despite the significantly reduced fuel consumption, the maximum output of the AMG V12 6-litre biturbo engine is up from 450 kW (612 hp) to 463 kW (630 hp). The maximum torque is 1000 newton metres.</p>
	<p>The unrivalled performance figures of the new SL 65 AMG translate into an exceptional driving experience: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4 seconds with the 200 km/h mark attained after just 11.8 seconds. The top speed is 250 km/h (electronically limited). As well as offering stunning acceleration, the AMG twelve-cylinder biturbo engine impresses with its smooth running characteristics and its distinctive AMG V12 sound. It is a performance that reconciles effortless superiority and stylishness to perfection.</p>

	<p><strong>AMG 6-litre V12 biturbo engine with new technology</strong></p>
	<p>The AMG 6-litre V12 biturbo engine with the designation M 279 is based on the M 275 engine used previously and has been comprehensively revised for the new SL 65 AMG. New exhaust gas turbochargers with an increased spiral cross-section, new manifolds and wastegate ducts with optimised flow characteristics increase the engine output by 13 kW (18 hp). The multi-spark ignition with twelve double ignition coils not only results in smoother running, but also enables even more effective combustion in combination with a new engine management system with higher performance and optimised cylinder heads. The resulting reduction in exhaust emissions is also due to a large extent to the optimised catalytic converter system. The newly developed AMG sports exhaust system, which has a pipe layout with enhanced flow characteristics, is 3.2 kilograms lighter as a result of a reduction in the wall thickness.</p>
	<p>But it is not just the inner qualities of the AMG 6-litre V12 biturbo engine that impress. The powerplant&#8217;s looks are as inspiring as its performance: the high-quality carbon-fibre and aluminium engine cover reflects the exceptional character of the powerful twelve-cylinder unit.<br />
<strong><br />
New: AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC</strong></p>
	<p>For the first time AMG has combined the 6-litre V12 biturbo engine with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G TRONIC. The seven-speed automatic transmission with its wide gear ratio spread enables a significantly lower engine speed and helps to reduce fuel consumption. A new fuel economy torque converter, bearings designed for reduced friction loss and the transmission-oil thermal management system are responsible for a further increase in the efficiency of the power transmission system.</p>
	<p>The AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G TRONIC has four different driving modes – Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S), Sport plus (S+) and Manual (M) – which can be selected at the push of a button on the centre console. In &#8220;C&#8221; mode the ECO start/stop function is permanently active. The compelling, dynamic character of the driving experience is made all the more vivid by the automatic double-declutching function during downshifts and through the brief, precisely defined interruption of ignition and fuel injection during upshifts under full load; the latter functionality has the additional benefit of reducing the shift times.</p>
	<p><strong>Intelligent lightweight construction with all-aluminium bodyshell and carbon fibre</strong></p>
	<p>Compared with the predecessor model&#8217;s steel design, the all-aluminium bodyshell of the new SL 65 AMG delivers a significant weight saving of around 110 kilograms as well as superior rigidity, safety and comfort. Intelligent lightweight construction also means that the components have been optimised in line with their specific purpose. Various types of processing are used for the aluminium components, for instance, which are produced as permanent mould castings or vacuum die castings before being processed into extruded sections or used in the form of sheet aluminium with varying wall thicknesses. The result is high rigidity, high safety and improved vibration characteristics. For the cover behind the tank, the designers use even lighter magnesium material in certain areas. High-strength steel tubes are integrated into the A-pillars for safety reasons.</p>
	<p>The boot lid helps to further trim the weight. For the first time on a volume-produced model, the inner support is made from lightweight carbon-fibre composite. The extremely rigid carbon-fibre component is bonded to the plastic outer shell, resulting in a weight saving of five kilograms compared with a conventional boot lid – an innovative solution that is being pioneered with the AMG SL models. This raft of innovative lightweight-design measures means that, at an EC kerb weight of 1950 kilograms, the new SL 65 AMG is 170 kilograms lighter than the model it replaces.<br />
<strong><br />
AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control</strong></p>
	<p>Mercedes-AMG also makes systematic use of lightweight construction principles for the suspension. The steering knuckles and spring links of the 4-link front suspension and almost all of the multi-link independent rear suspension components are made of aluminium. Both the vehicle&#8217;s handling agility and the response of the spring and damper components are enhanced by the reduction in unsprung masses. Like the predecessor model, the new SL 65 AMG is equipped as standard with the ABC active suspension system. The AMG sports suspension based on Active Body Control fitted in the eight-cylinder SL 63 AMG has been enhanced and its setup optimised for this new top-of-the-range model.</p>
	<p>Driving dynamics and performance were the key objectives during the design, development and testing phases. It is possible to choose between two suspension settings at the touch of a button: distinctly sporty characteristics with reduced roll angles and firm body damping (&#8221;Sport&#8221;) or a mode for high comfort on long journeys (&#8221;Comfort&#8221;). More negative camber on both axles and fully revised elastokinematics result in greater agility and faster cornering speeds.</p>
	<p><strong>New electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering</strong></p>
	<p>Equipped with the newly developed electro-mechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering, the V12 top model impresses with high dynamic qualities and eloquent feedback at the critical limits. The steering has a constant, more direct ratio and variable power assistance which adjusts in line with the suspension mode. Further standard equipment includes 3-stage ESP®, a speciality exclusive to AMG with &#8220;SPORT Handling&#8221; mode for particularly keen drivers, and an AMG rear axle differential which helps ensure that the phenomenal engine output is put down on the road as effectively as possible.</p>
	<p>All the qualities expected of an AMG high-performance braking system – excellent deceleration characteristics, optimum sensitivity and high resistance to fading – are delivered to perfection by the newly developed brake system of the SL 65 AMG. It features 390 x 36 mm compound discs with six-piston fixed callipers at the front and 360 x 26 mm integral discs with single-piston sliding callipers at the rear. An electric parking brake is fitted as standard. Red-painted callipers, as well as the even more powerful weight-optimised AMG ceramic high-performance compound brake system as seen on the SLS AMG, are available from the AMG Performance Studio as options.</p>
	<p><strong>New AMG brand face with two blade-like louvres</strong></p>
	<p>The new SL 65 AMG lives up to its stylish and exclusive high-performance roadster claim not only with its engineering but through its looks, too. The SL 65 AMG is the first model to feature the new AMG brand face. The two elements which dominate the form – the radiator grille and the lower cooling air intake – are retained but in reinterpreted form which gives them a more distinctive identity in terms of dynamism and the sense of perceived value they convey. The central styling feature is the new &#8220;twin blade&#8221; radiator grille in high-sheen chrome. The Mercedes star is mounted on two blade-like louvres whose profile recalls that of an aircraft wing. The more pronounced V-shape of the radiator grille optimises the longitudinal proportions of the vehicle and so adds even greater visual emphasis to the attributes of aerodynamics and purism.</p>
	<p>Below the &#8220;twin blade&#8221; radiator grille, the stylised &#8220;A&#8221;, a characteristic feature of AMG vehicles, is retained. A gap formed below a fine black fin at the lower edge of the cooling air opening allows an optimum airflow over the cooling modules – a perfect combination of aesthetics and high technology. The lower cross strut in the front apron is finished in high-sheen chrome and is given a perceived sense of depth by the gap above it – a distinctive note which adds the perfect finishing touch to the front of the vehicle. The &#8220;twin blade&#8221; radiator grille and lower cross strut are the two complementary styling elements which underline the new AMG brand face – a look which will be picked up by the styling of future AMG models and so further increase the recognition value of the AMG performance brand.</p>
	<p>The V12 top model is distinguished from the SL 63 AMG through the strategic use of high-sheen chrome highlights: along with the &#8220;twin blade&#8221; radiator grille and the lower cross strut, the surrounds of the special AMG daytime running lamps as well as the fins on the bonnet and the side of the wings have the same finish. Further characteristic AMG styling cues to be found on the SL 65 AMG include the front apron with large openings for the engine oil, water, charge air and transmission oil coolers, the specially shaped side sill panels, the AMG spoiler lip and the diffuser-look rear apron with a vehicle-colour insert.</p>
	<p>In addition to the two special chromed twin tailpipes of the AMG sports exhaust system, the characteristic V12 features include the &#8220;V12 BITURBO&#8221; legend on the front wings and the AMG 5-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in titanium grey with a high-sheen finish and equipped with 255/35 R 19 and 285/30 R 19 tyres at front and rear respectively. AMG multi-spoke forged light-alloy wheels from the AMG Performance Studio with 255/35 R 19 front tyres and 285/30 R 20 rear tyres reduce the unsprung masses. The forged wheels are also available in matt black with a high-sheen rim flange.</p>
	<p><strong>Vario-roof: MAGIC SKY CONTROL as an option</strong></p>
	<p>The sixth-generation SL retains the electrohydraulically operated vario-roof which can be retracted to save space, enabling the SL 65 AMG to be transformed into a roadster or a coupé, as the mood takes the driver and depending on the weather, in under 20 seconds. In contrast to the predecessor model, there are two versions to choose from for the new SL: the panoramic vario-roof or the unique panoramic vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL. The transparency of the latter can be switched to light or dark at the push of a button.</p>

	<p><strong>Interior: a feast for all the senses</strong></p>
	<p>Inside, too, the SL 65 AMG has exclusive design and equipment features which differentiate it from its eight-cylinder sister model. The electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with single or two-tone upholstery in Exclusive nappa leather with a special AMG diamond pattern are a particular highlight. This distinctive upholstery is also to be found on the door centre panels. Embossed AMG emblems on the seat backrests are standard, as are AIRSCARF neck-level heating, multicontour functionality, seat memory and climatised seats. The designo headlining in leather with partial AMG V12 diamond-design quilting provides the perfect visual and tactile finishing touch.</p>
	<p>The design of the cockpit recalls the SLS AMG: the four air vents styled like jet engines, the E-SELECT lever and the AMG DRIVE UNIT are all reminiscent of the super sports car&#8217;s styling. The choice of exquisite materials and the first-class workmanship which characterise the interior of the SL 65 AMG indulge all the senses. Highlights include the AMG carbon-fibre trim elements, the IWC-design analogue clock, the chromed AMG door sill panels illuminated in white and the AMG Performance steering wheel which is embellished by an AMG logo in the lower metal insert. A speedometer calibrated to 360 km/h in the AMG instrument cluster and the AMG start-up display with an exclusive AMG V12 BITURBO animation hint at the exceptionally dynamic performance of the SL 65 AMG.</p>

	<p><strong>One of the world&#8217;s safest roadsters</strong></p>
	<p>A crash-optimised aluminium structure, standard-fit PRE-SAFE® system and assistance systems on a par with those of the S-Class make the SL one of the world&#8217;s safest roadsters. The rigid aluminium bodyshell forms a robust occupant compartment as well as precisely defined deformation zones at the front and rear. If the vehicle rolls over, A-pillars made from a steel-aluminium material mix and two automatic roll-over bars help to protect the occupants.</p>
	<p>The restraint systems, including two-stage driver and passenger airbags, have been further enhanced. A headbag covers much of the side head-impact area. An additional thorax airbag in the backrest can protect the upper body in the event of a side impact. Further new standard features for the SL include the Mercedes-Benz-developed NECK-PRO crash-responsive head restraints. An active bonnet and a front end with a large, yielding impact area help ensure pedestrian protection.</p>

Under its bonnet pulses a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder supercharged unit courtesy of BMW that develops 320 hp and 450 Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.</p>
	<p>The Roadster 23 accelerates from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds, hitting a maximum speed of 285 km/h (177 mph). Quite remarkable is also the drag of this car - which allows it to go from 80 to 120 km/h (50 to 74.5 mph) in fifth gear in 4 seconds flat - as well as its average fuel consumption, rated at 8.2 l/100km. The suspension set up of this model is totally adjustable, while braking comes from four 328 mm ventilated discs coupled with 4-piston calipers at the front and 2-pistons calipers on the rear.</p>
	<p>The model will be produced in 23 units only (hence the name) and uses an exclusive and original exterior design that exposes several unpainted carbon parts such as the hood, rear, chassis, doors and roof, while the rest of the body can be painted according to the customer&#8217;s wishes. 	<p><strong>Performance made easy</strong><br />
The Roding is a two seat mid-engine sports car with a carbon fiber chassis and a powerful BMW 6 cylinder turbo charged engine. Maximum performance and driving dynamics are achieved through consequent lightweight construction, and a state of the art six cylinder turbo charged engine.</p>
	<p>The Roding Roadster is powered by a BMW high-efficiency six in line turbo engine. The engine generates 320 HP and has a torque of 450 Newton meters. The centre engine is installed in transverse configuration in relation to the vehicle longitudinal axis. The lightweight concept with a vehicle weight of 950 kg in conjunction with the powerful engine give the Roding a power to weight ratio of less than 3 kg/HP. This allows not only spectacular acceleration values but also high curve speeds, which is expressed in a curve acceleration of 1.4 g.</p>
	<p>Shifting is accomplished with a manual 6-Speed transmission, which transfers the power to an limited slip differential with a locking effect of up to 40%. This divides the engine power between the rear wheels, increasing the available traction while accelerating.</p>
	<p>In combination with a sporty mixed tire compound, which can also optionally be ordered as a semi-slick variation, the rear axle thereby always remains easy to control, despite the high engine performance - even with the desired drift. In addition, the shocks and the fully independent suspension with double wishbones can be adapted to the purpose - road or race track - and individually adjusted by the driver.</p>

The first cars to be produced are a special edition, limited run of 23 Roadsters, hence the name &#8220;Roding Roadster 23&#8243;.These edition models feature an exclusive exterior design with all visible carbon parts like the hood, rear, chassis, doors and roof unpainted and the rest of the body in any custom paint color the customer wishes. It also includes factory installed racing components. This weight reduced Roadster was designed for the racetrack, but is also completely suited for daily use.</p>
	<p><strong>Perfomance through weight reduction</strong><br />
The essence of lightweight construction is the concentration on only what is necessary and the application of modern materials. The main chassis cell is manufactured of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), while the front and rear subframes are aluminum-CFRP hybrid structures. This material has been proven in its application in aerospace and formula one due to its low weight and high stiffness. Characteristics that play a large role in an open roadster like the Roding, since stiffness and light weight are the foundation for precise handling and impressive road performance.</p>
	<p>Another core element of the main chassis is the integration of the required functions. For instance, the seat mounting points are integrated in the form making adapter brackets unnecessary.</p>
	<p>&#8220;The Roding shows how it is possible to make ideal use of light-weight potentials in the vehicle with the fiber bond-appropriate design. The technologies used clear the way for the structural use of fiber bond materials in the major series&#8221;, explains Dr. Klaus Drechsler (Professor, Technical University Munich), one of the most renowned scientists and technology specialists in the area of CFRP.</p>

	<p>It seems like summertime has come a little earlier at the Porsche&#8217;s stand in Geneva as the main attractions there are the beautiful, young and topless <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/porsche+boxster">Boxster 981</a> and <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/porsche+911+carrera+convertible">911 Cabriolet</a> (<a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+porsche+911">991-series</a>), both of which have been completely renewed. </p>
	<p>The mid-mounted Porsche Boxster 981 is somewhat inspired by the legendary Carrera GT and comes with either a 2-7-litre unit with direct injection or the more powerful 3.4-litre for its &#8216;S&#8217; variant. The former delivers 265 hp ( registering a &#8216;+10&#8242; hp over the model it replaces while the latter is credited with an output of 315 hp (+5). Both version will come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, although a 7-speed automatic PDK dual clutch gearbox is also available as optional extra. Having lost quite a few pounds during the renewal process, the new Boxster can now burn the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds, 5 seconds flat for the &#8216;S&#8217; version, while fuel consumption went down as well: the German carmaker claims an average consumption of 7.7 l/100km for the 2.7-litre and 8 l/100km for the 3.4 unit. </p>
	<p>The Porsche 911 Cabriolet makes its debut in Europe at the Swiss event as both Carrera and Carrera S variants are already available for order: the former is pushed by a 3.4 litre 6-cylinder boxer engine delivering 350 hp while the latter uses a 400 hp 3.8 unit. Both these powertrains come with a 7-speed manual transmission, with the familiar 7-speed automatic PDK option will also be available upon request. The model uses an electronically controlled fabric soft top with magnesium frame and integrated glass window that needs 11 seconds to complete both raising and stowing.</p>

	<p>Following its virtual launch on the internet a few hours back, the astonishing <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/lamborghini+aventador+j">Lamborghini Aventador J</a> physically shows up in all of its majesty at the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+geneva+motor+show">2012 Geneva Motor Show</a>. As thoroughly explained in our previous post on this unbelievable car, the Aventador J is a super exclusive one-off created by the Italian manufacturer that will be put up for sale at the end of the Swiss event. There is only one Aventador J on this planet, this one, and therefore just one lucky buyer will have the chance to enjoy the incredible &#8216;in-your-face&#8217; driving experience that only this one car can deliver. Designed to be the more extreme roadster of the planet, the Aventador J in fact comes with neither roof nor windscreen, something that simply puts this masterpiece in a league of its own. </p>
	<p>In a nutshell, this is an all-wheel drive car equipped with the same 700 hp 6.5-litre V12 engine of the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/lamborghini+aventador+lp700-4">LP700 coupe</a> and a super-fast ISR gearbox. In an attempt to keep is weight down to a minimum, the J got rid of useless frills such as clima, audio system and sat-nav and makes large use of innovative and ultra-light materials, including the never-seen-before Carbonskin fabric, patented by Lamborghini itself. 	<p>Making its debut in Europe, the brand new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/lamborghini+Gallardo+LP550-2+Spyder">Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder</a> does not disappoint the crowd that is still rubbing its eyes in disbelief after having seen the undisputed star of the Lamorghini&#8217;s stall. The model is basically a convertible version of the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/lamborghini+valentino+balboni">Gallardo Balboni</a> and comes with a 5.2-litre V10 engine developing 550 hp that get entirely transferred to the rear axle through the advanced E-Gear automatic gearbox. The Italian carmaker describes it as a &#8220;car for purists&#8221; and in fact, among the other features, this car uses a special program for its ESP called &#8216;Corsa&#8217; that neutralizes all of its electronic aids.  Weighing in at 1,520 kg, this car can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 319 km/h (198 mph).</p>

	<p>One of the most important cars to be introduced at the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+geneva+motor+show">2012 Geneva Motor Show</a> is the Bugatti <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/bugatti+veyron+grand+sport+vitesse">Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse</a>, which has been unveiled in a dedicated press conference for the first time ever.</p>
	<p>Just like the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/veyron+super+sport">Super Sport</a> coupe model it derives from, the Vitesse is powered by the impressive 8.0-litre W16 engine with four new turbochargers and bigger intercoolers, which produces an output of 1200 hp with 1500 Nm of peak torque, making it the more powerful Bugatti roadster ever and the fastest convertible of all time, reaching a top speed of no less than 410 km/h (255 mph).</p>
	<p>In order to compensate the lack of a roper roof, Bugatti&#8217;s engineers worked on the chassis of the car to make it stiffer and on the NACA air intakes, making them larger. This modification will allow the powerful W16 unit of the model to get the right cooling when driving with the soft top down. 	<p><strong>Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse celebrates world premiere in Geneva</strong></p>
	<p>Molsheim/France, 22 February 2012 – Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. is set to unveil the most powerful roadster of all time at the 82nd International Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of<br />
March.</p>
	<p>With an increase in power up to 1,200 HP, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse has entered a new dimension of open-top driving. Optically aligned to the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which holds the current world speed record of 431 km/h, the Vitesse also impresses with its dynamic driving characteristics.</p>
	<p>Bugatti&#8217;s engineers have developed the current Grand Sport, with its 1,001 HP and 1,250 Nm, into an even more powerful vehicle. The Vitesse&#8217;s maximum torque is now an impressive 1,500 Nm. The increased power of the new roadster&#8217;s 16-cylinder engine is made possible by the four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. The chassis has also been modified to support the power increase.</p>
	<p>The Vitesse therefore also ensures the supreme range of excellent features one would expect of a Bugatti super sports car, from precise driving dynamics to extraordinary acceleration and braking.</p>
	<p>&#8220;The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. 	<p>Judging by the look of this thing, you might guess it comes from another planet or something, but in reality the brand new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/lamborghini+aventador+j">Lamborghini Aventador J</a> is absolutely road legal. The latest rendition of the successful Aventador has been designed to be the most exciting and uncompromising Roadster ever made, and it is - as Lamborghini puts it - a &#8220;radically open automobile&#8221;, meaning that it comes with no roof and no windscreen. Therby you would need to wear helmet and leathers in order to jump on board and enjoy its 300 km/h of top speed &#8216;in your face&#8217;, but that&#8217;s a small price to pay for what could really end up being the driving experience of your life.</p>
	<p>The Lamborghini Aventador J is a one off that Lamborghini will showcase at the imminent Geneva Motor Show and will then put up for grabs once the event will be over. The model - based on <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/lamborghini+aventador+lp700-4">LP700-4</a> -the is also a proper, unique piece of art: there&#8217;s only one Aventador J, the one you see in these images. That&#8217;s the one that will be on display in Geneva and the one that will be sold right after it: no prototypes, no mules, not even one for the Lamborghini Museum. That&#8217;s the deal.</p>
	<p>The Aventador J is powered by the same 6.5-litre V12 engine of the regular coupe version, capable of delivering 700 hp and coupled to a ISR gearbox that transfers its power to all four wheels. However, there are quite a few features that makes it different from the model it derives from. Lack of roof and wind protection aside - apart from those two small deflectors that we think are merely choreographic -  the Aventador J uses a monocoque chassis with a roll bar behind the seats. Everything that was not functional to achieving maximum performance has been scrapped, and so sound system, clima and sat-nav are all  gone. Seats are made of forged composite and uses a special carbon-based fabric called Carbonskin, patented by Lamborghini itself. Aesthetically, the J boasts a narrower front end, specifically designed bumpers, a carbon rear wing, 20&#8243; alloys on the front axle and 21&#8243; at the back. 	<p>At the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, Automobili Lamborghini is presenting the most uncompromising open super sports car of its entire history. The Lamborghini Aventador J is a force of nature on wheels – supremely powerful and supremely open. The Aventador J offers its pilot and co-pilot an utterly indescribable experience of power and dynamics. At the same time, the 515 kW / 700 hp two-seater is a first class technology showcase, combining innovative solutions and brand new materials. Demonstrating Automobili Lamborghini&#8217;s enormous expertise in carbon fiber technology.</p>
	<p>The Lamborghini Aventador J is a radically open automobile – exterior and interior meld into each other. The designers and engineers in Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese have not only dispensed entirely with the roof, but also with the front windshield. This requires that drivers of the Aventador J must have the right equipment for driving at top speeds higher than 300 Km/h.</p>

	<p><strong>Continuation of a glorious tradition</strong></p>
	<p>With the Aventador J, technically based on the Aventador, Automobili Lamborghini is carrying on its glorious brand tradition. The 1970 Jota, for instance, was the stuff of legends – a Lamborghini Miura with improved performance and virtually redesigned every detail. It remained a one-off; although some owners subsequently had their Miuras modified to look like the Jota.</p>
	<p>The letter J is derived from the sporting rules of the FIA world motorsport organization. Its &#8220;Appendix J&#8221; defines the technical specification of race cars in the various classes.</p>

	<p>The unique expertise of Automobili Lamborghini in the field of carbon fiber reinforced polymers is evident not only in the hi-tech monocoque, but also in the research into further innovative solutions. Unlike traditional seats, in the Aventador J seats are made of Forged COMPOSITE®, with inserts of flexible carbon fiber fabrics: a result of an innovative Lamborghini patent.</p>
	<p>The specialists at Lamborghini have developed an even more amazing version of carbon fiber material for the Aventador J. In its first automotive application, this carbon fiber fabric called &#8220;Carbonskin&#8221; is made of woven carbon fibers soaked with a very special epoxy resin that stabilizes the fiber structure and keeps the material soft. Like a hi-tech fabric, the carbon fiber<br />
mats fit perfectly to every shape. In the Aventador J, the complete cockpit and parts of the seats are clad in this material and shimmer in matt carbon fiber black. It&#8217;s conceivable that in future there will be many potential applications for this freshly patented and extremely fine-looking material, even very high-end clothing.</p>
	<p><strong>The Design: uncompromisingly Lamborghini</strong></p>
	<p>An extreme Aventador obviously needs an equally single-minded design, which goes without saying at the Centro Stile Lamborghini. Every single model from Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese bears the unique design of the brand. Clear, precise surfaces, as well as sharp, often broken lines are among the unmistakable styling tools. They consistently emphasize the power and enormous presence of these Italian super sports cars. Not one line is ever accidental – the defining principle is always &#8216;form follows function&#8217;.</p>
	<p>This function is very clearly defined for the Aventador J – explosive dynamics, extreme driving fun, a unique experience. Every kilometer with the Aventador J is extreme fun: something plainly evident from the very first glance.</p>
	<p><strong>Rear view mirror like a periscope</strong></p>
	<p>Virtually every part of the outer chassis was redesigned for the Aventador J, yet it shows the spirit of Lamborghini in its most concentrated form. The car&#8217;s dimensions are extreme: the overall length is 4890 mm, the overall width (excluding mirrors) is 2030 mm while the height is 1110 mm.</p>
	<p>The highest points are marked by the rear view mirror, which is perched on an arm like a periscope, and by the two safety bars behind the seats. In place of the classic front windshield there are two small wind deflectors. The occupants of the Aventador J are confronted by the element of the wind in much the same way as a superbike rider – therefore the right clothing is prerequisite for every trip.</p>
	<p><strong>Front scoop with winglets</strong></p>
	<p>The front of the Aventador J is somewhat narrower than that of the Aventador. The front end is dominated by a highly distinctive carbon fiber air scoop, with central fixing braces and upward tilting winglets on the outer edges. Viewed from the side, the front end of the Aventador J looks like a Formula 1 racing car.</p>
	<p><strong>Red with chrome effect, wheels with CFRP fan</strong></p>
	<p>The black of the carbon fiber parts is visibly evident throughout the car – the significantly wider sill elements and the mighty rear diffuser form a perfect contrast to the rich red body paintwork. The special red color was developed specifically for this Aventador - a highly intensive red with a slight chrome effect.</p>
	<p>The wheels, of course, were also developed specifically for this car, with 20-inch rims at the front and 21-inch at the rear. The five-spoke aluminum wheels have a central lock system and an additional carbon fiber insert that functions like a small fan for optimum brake ventilation.</p>
	<p>Naturally, the doors on the Aventador J also open upward. They are considerably thinner than on the Aventador and are fitted with a tiny, fixed side window. The muscular flanks around the rear wheels are hallmark Lamborghini and make it immediately apparent where this particular bull keeps his power.</p>
	<p><strong>Rear end purely for aerodynamics and ventilation</strong></p>
	<p>Because of its ample dimensions, the eye is drawn inexorably to the rear end. It consists in principle of just three elements – the carbon-fiber rear diffuser, the four huge tail pipes and the rear lights with their typical 5 Lamborghini light signature in the form of a Y. The remaining surface area is for heat dissipation and is enclosed only by a black metal mesh. The rear end is crowned by an enormous fixed spoiler mounted on the bodyshell by two arms. &#8216;Form follows function&#8217; to the nth degree. The spoiler is supported by two pillars connected by the diffuser: clearly inspired by racing.</p>

	<p><strong>Special bumpers</strong></p>
	<p>In comparison with the Aventador LP 700-4, the exclusive Aventador J has special front and rear bumpers. Both bumpers have been supplemented with carbon fiber fins that act as flow deviators. Their purpose is to achieve a significant increase in the vehicle&#8217;s downforce at both the front and the rear.</p>
	<p><strong>The outside comes inside</strong></p>
	<p>The Aventador J&#8217;s exterior and interior forms flow seamlessly into each other. This super sports car turns its inside outward and is as open as it can possibly be. Conversely, the exterior &#8216;flows&#8217; through the interior – a red stripe runs from the front hood, between the two wind deflectors, over the dashboard, down the console to the center tunnel and back up between the seat backs, before leaving the interior and heading for the engine cover panel.</p>
	<p><strong>Interior is minimalist and single-minded</strong></p>
	<p>This band of color connects the front and the rear of the car, creates a visual separation between the driver and passenger space and is interrupted only by a small control panel housing the starter button and the switches for lights and transmission. The Aventador J is equipped neither with a navigation nor car audio system, nor does it have the associated<br />
screen or air conditioning controls – these would simply detract from its one and only raison d&#8217;être as an extreme driving experience. What remains, of course, are two programmable TFT displays behind the steering wheel.</p>
	<p>The engine cover also brings the inside to the outside. To be more precise,<br />
it is not so much a cover but more a framework. This part has a new geometry (X shape) and is made of carbon fiber. Two large openings lay bare both cylinder banks of the mighty V12 power unit with its 6.5 liters of displacement – a truly stunning sight for every automobile aficionado.</p>
	<p><strong>A unique work of art licensed for the road</strong></p>
	<p>However, at the end of the Geneva Motor Show, this sight will be the preserve of just one – the future owner of the Lamborghini Aventador J. There is only one of them, no prototypes and no others for the Lamborghini Museum. The buyer can look forward to a truly unique, street-legal work of art. He will possess the most extreme expression of Lamborghini DNA in existence and a real masterpiece of high technology. But the many other fans of the super sports cars from Sant&#8217;Agata Bolognese can rest assured - the Aventador success story has only just begun.

The V12 resumes the unique and exceptional style of the DB4, an exaggerated yet elegant supercar, with a discreet but powerful attitude. Developed in just 18 months and presented as a concept car at the Concorso d&#8217;Eleganza Villa d&#8217;Este in 2011, the V12 Zagato was the first car of the British brand to take part in the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/cerca/24%20hours%20nurbrunging">24 hours Nurburgring</a> as a prototype.</p>
	<p>The V12, developed through a close collaboration between Aston Martin and Zagato, summarise the history of the brand and the style development that marked years of partnership between the two companies. The Aston Martin V12 Zagato is entirely hand-built, the body is made of aluminum and carbon fibre, and every single detail has been designed to be functional, as well as attractive. Measuring 4385mm length, 1865 width and 1250 height, the V12 Zagato is a compact, but spacious supercar; sleek, sporty and original boasting an elegant swagger and great performance. The 1680 kg of the car are driven by a powerful 6.0-litre V12 engine positioned in the front bonnet of the car: 517 hp and 570 Nm of torque bring the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 305 km/h.</p>
	<p>Norihiko Harada, Zagato&#8217;s Chief Designer, has personally designed the car by concentrating the efforts of his team to create a sporty streamlined model, yet practical and pleasant. The distinctive front, remind of past models created by Zagato and the grille’s design, deceives the eye by showing the &#8220;Z&#8221; logo of Zagato. The side is full and muscular, still not heavy, with a very low roof line. The vents behind the rear wheels and the two humps on the roof, complete its iconic look. </p>
	<p>The production of this supercar will start next summer and will be limited to only 150 hand-made units, built by Aston Martin in Gaydon, England, and it will cost £330.000, ex VAT.</p>

	<p>New official images dedicated to the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+sl+63+amg">Mercedes SL 63 AMG</a> have just been released. Thanks to its retractable metal roof, the car can boast two different looks: it can easily switch from a spider to a coupé. The charming aesthetic approach, made in Affalterbach, results visually very effective and complements its performance.</p>
	<p>Under the bonnet, this provocative German spider-coupé mounts a powerful 5.5 litres V8 AMG Bi-Turbo, 537 hp and sports a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The price list also include a Performance package that brings the power up to 564 hp and 900 Nm.</p>
	<p>The new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/categoria/mercedes">Mercedes</a> SL63 AMG R231 weighs 1,845 kg, 125 kg less than the previous version.  Thanks to the mass decrease, the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, reaches 200Km in 12.9 seconds and stretches to a maximum speed of 250 km/h, limited by the control unit. With the AMG Performance Package, the speed increases to 300 km/h and the 0-100 km/h is reduced by one tenth, while at 0-200km/h is down to 3/10.</p>
