After its Geneva debut here is the official video of the new Skoda, Superb, which will see the introduction of a TDI 4-cylinder Common Rail engine at 140 and 170hp, and an AFS lighting system. Some doubts still remain as to the design but the technical and qualitative components are undeniable. Perhaps the value for money will win against the aesthetic impact…?

The new Skoda Fabia Wagon has been officially announced: it will be shown in public for the first time in september, at the next Frankfurt auto show.
For now there’s only one photo, a side view, of the new small Skoda estate. Sadly, the tail seems to have drawn inspiration from the VW Golf Variant. Seeing thw Fabia Wagon side-by-side with the Fabia hatchback, we notice that the tail of the hatch seems much mure lively, with an almost vertical closing line for the rear window, while the sloping third light of the Fabia Wagon makes it seem a bit “tired”.
Technical data and prices will be announced later. We can expect the Fabia Wagon to have the same engine range as the hatch (maybe excepting the smallest engines): gasoline 1.2 (60 ps), 1.2 12V (69 ps), 1.4 (86 ps) e 1.6 (105 ps) and diesel 1.4 TDI (69 and 80 ps) and 1.9 TDI (105 ps).
The compact SUV from Skoda will likely be on the market by 2009. The front should be similar to the Roomster’s, while the looks should be inspired by those of the Yeti Concept.
The next generation of the Skoda Fabia will be shown at the next Geneva Auto Show and it should feature TSI engines and DSG gearboxes “donated” by VW, which is adapting them for use on the Polo.

Skoda has released the first official photos of the Roomster. The main changes of the production version over the concept seem to be the “normal” rear doors, and the fact that the production version has a symmetrical body.
The Roomster is an MPV that uses the Fabia platform with the rear axle from the Octavia, it is 4.21 meters long and 1.61 meters high, the wheelbase is 2.62 meters long. The rear seat has a flexible configuration: the cargo capacity varies from 460 liters to 1,780 liters.

The production version of the Skoda Roomster will be shown in march at the Geneva Auto Show, while deliveries will start in June, maybe initially on the Czech market.
According to Auto Motor und Sport, the starting price might be around 12.000 €, an interesting price on european markets, for a small station-wagon/multi-space car of this size(4,05 meters) and with this kind of capacity, but we’ll await the photos of the production version and technical data for a definite judgement.
