	<p>The new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/toyota+land+cruiser">Toyota Land Cruiser</a> V8 is a vehicle dedicated to all off-road lovers looking for a comfortable and convenient car, without having to compromise on off-road appearance.  The <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/categoria/toyota">Toyota</a> Land Cruiser V8 my2012 is powered by a 4.5-litre D4-D diesel engine, with output of 272hp delivered at 3,600 rpm, with maximum torque of 650 Nm delivered between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm.</p>
	<p>The car is 4.95 m long and the total weight is 2,625 kg: the average fuel consumption is 9.5 litres per 100 km, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds.  The updated V8 diesel engine has lost 14 hp, slowing down the 0-100 km/h of 0.7 seconds, despite so the top speed is 210 km/h.</p>
	<p>The passenger compartment is comfortable and cozy and is enriched with a variety of tech goodies and custom accessories to personalise the car.  Toyota Land Cruiser V8 features the Crawl Control system that automatically controls the vehicle’s engine and brakes when driving on steep or rough terrain.</p>

	<p><a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/categoria/mercedes">Mercedes-Benz</a> showed up at the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+beijing+motor+show">2012 Beijing Motor Show</a> with two world premieres: the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/Mercedes+Concept+Style+Coupe">Concept Style Coupe</a> and the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g-class">G-Class</a>. During the press conference that introduced these new models - that was graced by a short gig from renowned English artist Jessie J - Mercedes CEO, Mr. Dieter Zetsche, stated that in order to achieve its goal of becoming the world&#8217;s leading car manufacturer by 2020, the house of the three-pointed star considers China as a key-market, and for this reason the German carmaker is working to improve even further its own distribution and services network in the country. </p>
	<p>Making its first appearance ever in a motor show, the new Concept Style Coupe is a compact 4-door coupe developed on the same platform that generated the recent B-Class and is supposed to anticipate a future model that should end up adopting the <a href="www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+cla">CLA</a> moniker. Measuring 4,639 mm in length, 1,398 in height and 1,891 in width, this concept car uses a well-thought mix of tight and rounded lines that conveys a sort of &#8217;speed&#8217; and &#8216;movement&#8217; vibe: its front end looks especially sporty and aggressive, adding up to the overall sleek and elegant aesthetics of the car. Its exclusive 20&#8243; alloy rims and the very concept-oriented wing mirrors will not be used for the final production version of the car, whose most sporty variants will be equipped with a set of 19&#8243; alloys courtesy of <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/amg">AMG</a>. Under the bonnet pulses a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine delivering 211 hp, mated to a 7G-DCT &#8216;dual clutch&#8217; automatic gearbox and to the 4matic all-wheel drive system. Definitely worth mentioning is also its brand new Comand Online infotainment system, which exploits the &#8216;cloud computing&#8217; to improve its own efficiency and make the ride more pleasant for the passengers.</p>
	<p>The other important new Merc on display in Beijing is the new G-Class. The model retains the iconic design of the first Gelandewagen - simple, squared off and extremely functional - but its mechanical and electronic contents have been updated to live up to nowadays standards. Having won the &#8216;Offroader Of The Year&#8221; prize more than 20 times since its debut in 1979, the re-styled G-Class now comes with modern day LED technology at the front, revised wing mirrors and a pair of newly designed bumpers. However, the most dramatic change affected its cabin, where we find once again the Comand Online system as well as the Distronic Plus and the Blind Spot Assist (all of which are becoming standard features on all the new Mercs). The &#8216;500&#8242; version of the revamped G-Class line-up will come with a 5.4-litre V8 delivering 388 hp and 530 Nm of peak torque, while the &#8216;350 BlueTec&#8217; will be powered by a 3.0-litre diesel engine producing 211 hp and 540 Nm. Moreover, two muscular AMG variants of the model will also be a part of the new range, namely the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g63+amg">G63 AMG</a> - equipped with a 5.4-litre twin turbo V8 delivering 544 hp and 760 Nm - and the outstanding <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g65+amg">G65 AMG</a>, pushed by a frightening 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 credited with an output of 612 hp and no less than 1,000 Nm of maximum torque.</p>

	<p>Even though the aforementioned two new models are the undisputed stars at the Mercedes-Benz&#8217;s stall in Beijing, they are definitely not alone. Almost all the models of the current range are being showcased at the event, but a special mention goes to the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/Mercedes+viano">Viano</a> Vision Diamond, the latest Vision variant of the popular MPV. The exterior of this model is characterized by an exclusive color scheme that plays with the contrast between black and diamond white and is enriched by a few golden accents such as the diamond drawings that emphasize its exclusivity. The same white/black/gold theme continues in the cabin, which uses black leather upholstery with contrasting white stitching on the front and white leather upholstery for the rear bench. Comfortable seats aside, the passengers can also enjoy the ride while sipping some fresh Champagne that can be stored in mini refrigerator placed in the rear section and capable of holding up to 5 champagne bottles. And in case you are wondering: yes, there are a few flute holders too. If that&#8217;s not enough, behind the front seats there&#8217;s a massive 40&#8243; TV screen that allows the passengers at the back to watch the telly, a DVD, surf the internet or even play some videogames. The exclusive Bang &#038; Olufsen BeoLiving Viano sound system provides for the perfect acoustic experience and can be controlled - just like the blackening of the windows - through an iPhone or an iPad.</p>

	<p>Jeep is at the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+beijing+motor+show">2012 Beijing Motor Show</a> presenting the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+wrangler">Wrangler</a> Dragon Design Concept. The iconic offroader from the US-based manufacturer has been modified in order to create a special concept car for this event, and the outcome is this pretty particular Dragon variant with a few details that recall the Chinese culture. Completely painted in black with some golden inserts, this exclusive version of Wrangler has a massive dragon decal on the hood as well as another two on the sides.</p>
	<p>The black/gold theme continues in the cabin, that looks as elaborated and fashionable as the outside of the car. Leather upholstery with some Magic Wand metallic inserts gives the passenger compartment a pretty classy feeling, while the dragon image comes up again on the headrests.</p>
	<p>The powertrain of the Wrangler Dragon is exactly the same as in the standard model, with the usual 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 engine delivering 284 hp and 347 Nm of peak torque. Its 18&#8243; wheels use the same black/gold theme and are fitted with 35&#8243; tyres that provide for the best grip in any condition. Several details of this model - such as the LED lights and the fuel cap door - were lifted from the Mopar catalogue, and could be ordered separately right now.</p>

	<p>The <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+beijing+motor+show">2012 Beijing Motor Show</a> is about to see the unveiling of two brand new models from <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/categoria/mercedes">Mercedes</a>: the revamped <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g-class">G-Class</a> and the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g63+amg">G63 AMG</a>. Our colleagues from parent-site <a href="http://www.autoblog.it/post/41555/pre-salone-pechino-2012-nuova-mercedes-classe-g-e-g63-amg">Autoblog.it</a> already got the chance to see them both &#8216;in the metal&#8217;, and here are a few pictures showing us the two new born-creatures from the house of the three-pointed star in all of their majesty.</p>
	<p>Just for the record, the details we have anticipated a few days ago are confirmed. The renewed G-Class - a.k.a. G-wagon - maintains its classic, timeless styling while adopting a decidedly more modern approach: the main lines of its design are basically the same as the first generation of this iconic offroader - which debuted in 1979 - but a few cosmetic upgrades make it clear that the new model is now perfectly aligned to nowadays standards. From this point of view, at a first glance, LED daytime running lights, newly designed wing mirrors and bigger air-inlets on the sides are its most distinguishing features. On the contrary, the passenger compartment has been completely re-designed: right in the middle of the dashboard there is a screen that allows the driver to control the Comand Online infotainment system that include DVD-Changer and Controller, while Active Cruise Control with Distronic Plus (a system that monitors the safety distance), Blind Spot Assist and Parktronic are available as optional extras. Besides there&#8217;s also an updated version of the ESP, which provides for a better handling of the most challenging situations.</p>
	<p>As for the engine range, there are three version of the G-Class: the G 350 BlueTEC, the G 500 - both of which will come in a station-wagon configuration, with a longer wheel base - and the G 500 Cabrio, with a shorter wheel base. The G 350 BlueTEC is powered by a 2,987 cc V6 diesel engine producing 155 kW (211 hp) at 3,400 rpm and a peak torque of 540 Nm between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm. The G 500 is equipped with a5.5-litre V8 credited with an output of  285 kW (387 hp) and 530 Nm of peak torque, which is the same unit that pulses under the bonnet of the  G 500 Cabrio. Both the G 350 and the G 500 come with the by now well-know 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic gearbox. </p>

	<p>The fact the new G63 AMG is being launched in Beijing is no surprise as China has now become the third bigger market worldwide for <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/amg">AMG</a> products. The new model is pushed by a 5.4-litre twin-turbo V8 unit delivering 544 hp and 760 Nm of maximum torque, which make for an extra 37 hp and 60 Nm over the outgoing 5.5 Kompressor version, the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g55+amg">G55 AMG</a>. As for the performance figures, Mercedes claim a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 5,4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). For the first time the model will use a ECO system with Start-Stop that will contain the emissions of its frightening V8 to a minimum. Aesthetically, the AMG variant of the G-Class can be told apart from the other versions by its exclusive AMG gloss black &#8220;twin-blade&#8221; radiator grille, the newly designed bumpers with larger air-intakes, the wider fenders, its dedicated set of 20&#8243; alloys, AMG side skirts, the mufflers placed in front of the rear wheels and its red-painted calipers.</p>
	<p>Let&#8217;s be honest though, would you have expected AMG to be satiated with just a V8? Sure thing they weren&#8217;t, so here is the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g65+amg">G65 AMG</a>, powered by a terrifying 6.0-litre twin turbo V12 that will definitely take no prisoners. Credited with an output of 612 hp and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm, this engine sees Mercedes raising the bar for the whole segment, actually setting a new offroad standard altogether: this monster can go from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.3 seconds, reaching a self-imposed top speed of no less than 230 km/h (143 mph). Go figure.</p>

	<p>Mercedes USA releases the first official pictures and info of the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g63+amg">G63 AMG</a>. The AMG-branded version of the &#8216;Gelandewagen&#8217; chenges its name (it was formerly known as <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g55+amg">G55 AMG</a>) and engine, boasting now a 5.4-litre twin-turbo V8 credited with an output of 544 hp and 760 Nm of peak torque, which makes for a +37 hp and +60 Nm over the previous 5.5 Kompressor unit.</p>
	<p>For the first time, a <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+g-class">G-Class</a> AMG model will come with an ECO system with Start/Stop that reduces consumption and emissions of the vehicle. Aesthetically, this AMG variant of the G-wagen can be easily told apart from the other versions by its re-designed (and quite aggressive) pair of bumpers.</p>
	<p>Wider fenders, a new set of alloys, side skirts, red-painted calipers and mufflers placed in front of the rear wheels emphasize its sporty attitude even further. The Mercedes G63 AMG will be soon on sale in Germany at 137,000 Euros, while the more performing and expensive G65 AMG - equipped with a twin turbo V12 delivering 612 hp and an impressive 1000 Nm of torque - will follow shortly with a price tag of 264,000 Euros.</p>

	<p>The beautiful <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+grand+cherokee+srt8">Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8</a> is finally coming to Europe. This sporty variant of the popular <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+grand+cherokee">Grand Cherokee</a> (SRT stands for Street Racing Technology) is powered by an impressive 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine credited with an output of with an output of 465 hp and 630 Nm (465 lb-ft) of peak torque. Performance figures are also quite impressing: the car sprints from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds, and reaches a top speed of more than 250 km/h (155 mph). In terms of output the SRT8 boasts an improvement of 50 hp and 61 Nm torque over the 6.1-litre HEMI V-8 it is about to replace, thus it is the most high-performance Jeep vehicle ever produced.</p>
	<p>The exterior of the SRT8 is characterized by a lowered (by 3 cm) and more aggressive profile. LED multi-function daytime running lamps amplify the look of the high performance Jeep, while a hood mounted dual black heat extractors provide for a better engine cooling. At the rear, we have a new lift-gate spoiler, air diffuser and a dual-sport exhaust system featuring 10 cm exhaust tail pipes. The model also uses an advanced new active damping suspension, which is managed by the new Selec-Trac system to optimize road handling.</p>
	<p>The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8&#8217;s refined interior uses carbon fibre accent inserts, paddle-shift gear controls, Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC), a new SRT-styled Nappa leather and suede seats and the Uconnect satellite navigation system, . Obviously, all sorts of safety and security features are also part of the SRT8 package. Other highlights include 20&#8243; forged aluminum wheels, blind-spot monitoring with Rear Cross-path detection, high-performance vented Brembo brakes, dual-pane sunroof and an on-demand four-wheel drive transfer system.</p>

	<p>The ongoing <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+new+york+auto+show">2012 New York International Auto Show</a> saw the launch of the new <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/dodge+ram+1500">Ram 1500</a>, one of the most popular pick-up truck in the US. Just like its predecessor, the new Ram is extremely versatile and can be used for commercial purposes, road use, off-road and so on, and is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar engine which is credited with an output of  305 hp and 364 Nm of peak torque. This unit is coupled to a 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission that replace the frankly obsolete 4-speed automatic gearbox of the outgoing generation.</p>
	<p>A 395 hp 5.7-litre V8 Hemi engine coupled with the same transmission will also become available at a later time. One pretty interesting feature of the new gearbox is that it is controlled by a knob placed nearby the clima controls. The fuel consumption figures have improved as well thanks to such systems as the Aero Modem which lowers the body of the car while traveling on the motorway to the benefit of its aerodynamic penetration.</p>
	<p>The new Ram 1500 comes with a completely adjustable pneumatic suspension and uses 5 different set-ups: Normal, Aero, Off-Road 1, Off-Road 2 and Park. The overall weight of the vehicle has also gone down thanks in most part to the large use of aluminum and high-resistance steel. Quite obviously, the aesthetics of the model have been slightly revised too, but the classic, imposing look of the Ram is definitely still there. The cabin is now more modern and comfortable and uses a cool Uconnect info-tainment system with an 8.4&#8243; screen placed in the middle of the console. horsepower, 407 lb.-ft. of torque and best-in-class fuel economy for V-8 trucks (at least 20 percent better fuel economy when compared to 2012 V-8 powertrain). Also, the HEMI delivers best-in-class towing and payload – 11,500 pounds and 3,125 pounds respectively, with Ram 1500 Tradesman Heavy Duty.</p>
	<p>The class-exclusive eight-speed automatic transmission (TorqueFlite 8 ), standard equipment with 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar, doubles the amount of gears compared to previously available four-speed automatic transmission, which improves drivability and enhances fuel efficiency. The new eight-speed also is available with the 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI – the Company&#8217;s first application with a V-8 (TorqueFlite 8 with V-8 is late availability). The exclusive new transmission is operated by an innovative, dashmounted rotary e-shift dial, which enables quick blind-shift transitions from &#8220;Reverse&#8221; to &#8220;Drive&#8221; when towing or navigating out of mud, snow or busy parking lots.</p>
	<p>Owners will appreciate an innovative rotary e-shift dial for trucks equipped with the new TorqueFlite 8-speed transmission that replaces both column and floor shifters. The exclusive rotary e-shift enables intuitive operation with a direct and confident feel, even with gloves on. The convenient, dashmounted, easy-to-understand and operate system provides total control of the sophisticated eightspeed transmission and is Ram Truck&#8217;s innovative approach to electronic shifters, already used in Class 6-8 trucks. This new design allows quick blind-shift transitions from &#8220;Reverse&#8221; to &#8220;Drive&#8221; when towing or navigating out of mud, snow or busy parking lots and crowded worksites. The new rotary eshift dial also yields space for more functional and usable storage in the console.</p>
	<p>Another segment exclusive with the eight-speed transmission is a new thermal management system that is designed to quickly raise engine and transmission fluid temperatures. By raising fluid temperatures, parasitic losses resulting from high-viscosity engine oil and transmission fluid can be reduced, improving fuel efficiency by 1.7 percent. As the engine temperature increases to predetermined levels, warm engine coolant is circulated through a thermal exchange unit, which also contains dedicated pathways for transmission fluid. As the thermal exchange unit heats up, it also heats up the transmission fluid. This action dramatically reduces warm up time for the transmission, improving fuel economy, drivability and shift quality. In most powertrain configurations, the transmission heats up independently of the engine, delaying warm-up time and reducing efficiency. Adding to industry firsts in a pickup truck is the application of stop-start, another fuel saving feature available on select 2013 Ram 1500 models. This new system improves fuel economy by up to 3.3 percent, an increase of about one mile-per-gallon to the truck&#8217;s city drive cycle.</p>
	<p>Stop-start increases fuel efficiency by shutting the engine off when the truck comes to a complete stop. Amenities (radio, gauges, heating or air conditioning, etc.) continue to operate, making the operation transparent to the driver. The engine restarts automatically when the driver releases the brake, allowing seamless acceleration.</p>
	<p>Enabling components have been upgraded for heavy-duty operation on models equipped with the stop-start feature.</p>

Although the new 2013 Ram 1500 boasts numerous segment-exclusive features, many aren&#8217;t readily visible, but deliver best-in-class fuel efficiency, ride and handling.</p>
	<p>Aerodynamics<br />
The new 2013 Ram 1500 continues to maintain its ruggedly handsome appearance with new exterior design elements. Extensive wind-tunnel testing honed the 2013 Ram 1500 exterior shape, resulting in continued best-in-class aerodynamics. Also, the cooperative application of active aerodynamics and modern styling led to a six percent aerodynamic improvement on the new truck. The 2013 Ram 1500 Regular Cab 4&#215;2 coefficient of drag (Cd) is .363 – compared with a Cd of .386 for a 2012 Ram 1500 Regular Cab 4&#215;2.</p>
	<p>Air Suspension<br />
Best-in-class ride and handling gets even better. The 2013 Ram 1500 is now available with an all-new air suspension system featuring five height settings for optimum ride and aerodynamic performance.</p>
	<p>The feature operates automatically, or may be controlled manually via console or key fob controls:<br />

The new air suspension system adds up to 4 inches of lift span, offering best-in-class step-in height of 21 inches, best-in-class ground clearance of 10.7 inches, best-in-class departure angle of 27.8 degrees, and best-in-class breakover angle of 24.2 degrees supported by four-corner air springs that provide a cushioned, premium ride.</p>
	<p>Another benefit to the new air suspension is load-leveling capability, which automatically detects load on the suspension from a trailer or payload. The air pressure increases until the vehicle reaches normal ride height, leveling the truck and improving the loaded ride.<br />
Additionally, a separate button on the key fob gives the operator the ability to manually lower the truck, allowing for ease of passenger entry and reduced tailgate lift-over height.</p>
	<p>Electric Power Steering<br />
The 2013 Ram 1500 features electric power steering (EPS). By using an electric motor to power the truck&#8217;s rack and pinion steering system, the engine is relieved from the task of constantly turning a hydraulic pump, improving fuel efficiency up to 1.8 percent and adding five horsepower. Also, the introduction of EPS reduces complexity by removing the previous hydraulic pump, high-pressure hydraulic hoses and cooling apparatus.</p>
	<p>Weight Reduction<br />
Weight reduction is an important variable in the fuel economy equation. Reducing the weight of<br />
components improves fuel economy and allows for more content without affecting payload or towing capability.</p>
	<p>A newly redesigned frame benefits from a weight reduction of up to 30 pounds by using advanced high-strength steels. Also benefitting from advanced metal, new box floor cross-members in the bed eliminates seven pounds and a new front bumper design removes four pounds. Additionally, aluminum upper and lower control arms in the front suspension contribute to additional weight reduction and handling. The Ram 1500 also features an aluminum hood saving 26 pounds.</p>
	<p>Underneath the hood, the combination of the new Pentastar V-6 and new TorqueFlite 8 transmission reduces the weight by approximately 76 pounds. The V-8 and TorqueFlite 8 together reduce weight by more than 30 pounds.</p>
	<p>The weight reductions not only allow for more convenience, comfort and entertainment features but also best-in-class fuel saving technology such as thermal management, stop-start and active aerodynamics.</p>
	<p>Pulse-width Modulation<br />
Pulse-width modulation (PWM) is a new fuel-saving technology for the Ram 1500, which reduces<br />
parasitic electrical load. The technology not only eliminates unnecessary load on the alternator but also improves the durability of benefitting systems. Fuel delivery and the forward cooling fan are two systems that take advantage of PWM, adding a 0.4 percent improvement in fuel efficiency.</p>
	<p>Low rolling-resistance Tires<br />
The 2013 Ram 1500 features standard low rolling-resistance tires to minimize wasted energy and<br />
decrease required rolling effort. Tread patterns, advanced materials and millions of miles of testing result in greater fuel efficiency.</p>
	<p>Chassis<br />
The 2013 Ram 1500 uses a newly designed frame with improved, low torsion (stiffness) attributes that increase stability and handling precision while decreasing noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) up to 30 percent, depending on drive cycle. Front rails feature 20 percent increased yield strength from the use of high-strength steel. Among other features, the new frame design incorporates a new powertrain, new air suspension and new body-mounting technology.</p>
	<p>Portions of the frame are hydroformed for dimensional accuracy (hydroforming reduces the amount of welding that leads to distortion), and side rails are fully boxed. The front frame section incorporatesadvanced, high-strength steel that maintains overall strength and durability while saving approximately 30 pounds. To further improve NVH, new larger body mounts are located on the front frame rails and at the C-pillar.</p>
	<p>New standard front independent suspension combines new aluminum upper control arms and retuned geometry with coil springs for improved responsiveness and handling. New, more robust ball joints on the front suspension yield greater durability and are engineered with improved sealing methods.</p>

The new 2013 Ram 1500 retains its ruggedly handsome appearance with all-new interior and exterior design aesthetics, improved aerodynamics and all-new, segment-leading technology – and every Ram 1500 truck benefits from new content specifically designed to match each model&#8217;s unique style.</p>
	<p>Exterior<br />
Ram Truck brand designers started with the Ram grille making it not only larger – with the same<br />
overall width, but approximately one inch taller – &#8220;saddled&#8221; within the new upper fascia panel for a more integrated appearance. The classic Ram crosshair horizontal and vertical grille bars are now flush at the top and bottom of the grille surround.</p>
	<p>The new front bumper design supports the &#8220;saddled&#8221; Ram grille theme with new vertically oriented fog lamps for improved light spread, distance and more lumens. Larger openings around the front tow hooks (four-wheel drive models) allow for easy access to the hooks.<br />
The 2013 Ram 1500 quad headlamp design has improved light spread, pattern consistency, distance and 30 percent more lumens. An all-new premium headlamp lighting system is a bi-functional halogen projector design with 15 amber LEDs for park/turn/position lamp and three amber LEDs for the side marker.</p>
	<p>For 2013, the Ram 1500 offers 12 different colors, including five new shades. Black Gold,<br />
Copperhead, Maximum Steel Metallic, Prairie and Western Brown are all new and available in a<br />
monotone and/or two-tone depending on the model.</p>
	<p>The new, polished stainless steel running boards have a sturdy box cross-section design. Also, the new wheel-to-wheel exclusive running board design offers aerodynamic improvements over the current version and provides customer&#8217;s improved access to the forward portion of the truck bed. A new 6-ft.-4-in. bed option is now available on Crew Cab models giving customers the ability to combine Ram 1500&#8217;s largest available cab with the largest four-door/bed combination. All-new premium tail lamps are standard and consist of 15 red LEDs with three red LEDs for the side marker.</p>
	<p>Interior<br />
For 2013, new features and technologies create opportunity for a redesigned interior with material upgrades; improved fit and finish; all-new interior themes with different colors and materials; all-new HVAC controls and new multimedia systems. The 2013 Ram 1500 also features an exclusive eightspeed transmission with a new rotary e-shift dial design.</p>
	<p>Rear occupants can enjoy the same quality, fit and finish as the driver. With points of contact a<br />
priority, new premium materials, colors and designs are now on all four doors. Soft-touch materials enhance armrests and upper bolsters with expanded use of premium surfaces.<br />
The 2013 Ram 1500 features the next generation 8.4-inch Uconnect system with background screens tailor-made to specific Ram models and themes. To make room for the new big screen, the center stack is upgraded with matching materials found throughout the interior. To complement the range of Ram 1500 models, the interior design team created new, individualized themes with different colors and materials. For the Laramie Longhorn, the Ram design team sought out a very rare Walnut grain with a unique burl that was unintentionally created by ranchers using trees as fence posts for barbed wire. Eventually, the trees grow over the rusting metal wire, creating a swirl coloring pattern and tone that is not found anywhere else.</p>
	<p>The all-new HVAC controls take lessons learned from other Chrysler Group Uconnect applications and feature simple, improved function, meeting the highest Human Machine Interface (HMI) standards. The HVAC system includes a redundant architecture allowing the operator to use either the 8.4-inch touchscreen or manual controls to alter the truck&#8217;s environment. Below the upgraded HVAC arrangement is a new switch bank with relocated, easy-to-use controls for a number of features depending on vehicle models and options. All buttons in the comfort bank also are redundant on the Uconnect system. Contiguous to the switch bank is a prominently placed, adjustable integrated trailer brake control allowing the driver to add or reduce trailer brake function on the fly.</p>
	<p>The Ram 1500&#8217;s new, exclusive eight-speed transmission created the need for an innovative rotary e-shift dial in the cockpit to replace the center console gate shifter – a first for pickups. The new shifter works in a multitude of seating configurations and will replace floor and column shifters for use in the eight-speed transmission. Realizing this is a dramatic change in the way trucks have historically shifted gears, the interior design team accepted the challenge with a new shift knob, naturally and prominently placed to the driver&#8217;s right, at the lower left-hand side of the center stack, in place of the previous transfer case shift knob. The rotary dial enables intuitive blind-shift transitions between &#8220;Drive&#8221; and &#8220;Reverse&#8221; with a direct and confident feel. The transfer case retains full capability with push buttons located directly under the e-shift dial.</p>
	<p>New technology also moves to the gauge cluster. Previously only available on premium models, the 3.5-inch vehicle information screen is now standard on ST and SLT and displays vehicle operating functions. The new thin film transistor (TFT), 7-inch screen is now available on SLT, standard on Sport, Laramie and Laramie Longhorn models. The 7-inch screen features fully customizable function and configurability. Similar to the 8.4-inch Uconnect screen, select 7-inch cluster background screens are tailor-made to specific Ram models, with designs that match the truck&#8217;s theme.</p>

The Uconnect Media Centers R3 and R4 provide the Ram 1500 with a built-in cellular connection so vehicle occupants are automatically connected to a variety of new services and the internet with WiFi hotspot capability. The new Uconnect Media Centers provide a direct connection to emergency services when the new 911 button found on the rearview mirror is pushed. Ram 1500 customers also will automatically receive regular vehicle health reports and be able to remotely lock or unlock truck doors, start the vehicle, and flash lights from any distance via the web or a smartphone application.</p>
	<p>Ram truck owners will be able to access select, certified in-vehicle applications. Driving-relevant applications will be introduced over time and are designed specifically for in-vehicle use. The certified applications are easily controlled with natural voice recognition or steering wheel controls to keep drivers focused on the road. The responsive 8.4-inch touchscreen includes the award-winning user interface designed by Chrysler Group Human Machine Interface engineers, featuring large icons and visual cues allowing consumers intuitive control of system features.</p>
	<p>Uconnect Media Centers Are Always Current<br />
Ram truck owners will be confident to know their truck is designed to be forward-thinking, providing the freedom to upgrade to the latest features and services, without having to replace their factory installed Uconnect systems. Applications are updatable over the air and are downloaded directly to the Uconnect Media Center, so features remain current. Ram truck owners will be able to continually evolve their in-vehicle connectivity experience by downloading app updates or new applications as they become available directly to the Uconnect Media Center from inside the car, via the 8.4-inch touchscreen.</p>
	<p>The Ram 1500&#8217;s new Uconnect Access system features best-in-class functionality, integrating new entertainment content and is the first time Ram will offer HD Radio to its customers. Ram customers also will have access to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, handsfree mobile phone operation, handsfree navigation, handsfree texting with compatible phones and handsfree control of music. Additionally, new connected services and applications provide real-time access to information and content that Ram 1500 customers want and need while on the road. Uconnect is designed to provide drivers and passengers with relevant, focused and contextual information that is not distracting and easy to use, allowing drivers to remain focused on the road.</p>
	<p>Also enhancing driver convenience, Uconnect features one-step voice command of navigation, the ability to check real-time fuel prices and listen and respond to text messages, combined with familiar knobs for climate and comfort controls.</p>
	<p>A Variety of Ways to Control Your Content<br />
Uconnect Access controls are placed on the steering wheel. Customer research has shown a<br />
preference towards audio controls located at the rear of the steering wheel and Ram was the first truck manufacturer to integrate these rocker switches for ease of use. Audio system controls, including next station, radio preset and previous station or track, are located on the left. Volume up or down and change audio source are located on the right. This means Ram truck drivers can keep their hands on the wheel while they enjoy a variety of entertainment content sources.</p>
	<p>Media Console Offers a Variety of Options<br />
Neatly integrated within the upper storage tier of the center console, a new multimedia input includes USB, SD card and auxiliary connections. The USB allows control of iPod or other media device through the large touchscreen displays and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. A more powerful 2.5 amp, USB port and 12-volt outlet also provide mobile recharging for electronic devices. In addition, MP3 and WMA audio files on a USB memory device may also be played and controlled via the Uconnect system.</p>
	<p>New 7-inch Vehicle Information Center<br />
Filling the gauge cluster in front of the driver is an available 7-inch, color, premium vehicle information screen, featuring a new customizable function that enables Ram 1500 customers to personalize information inside the instrument cluster. Similar to the premium Uconnect Systems, select 7-inch instrument cluster background screens are branded with a Ram theme. Ram&#8217;s new information display is designed to visually communicate information, using graphics and text, quickly and easily.</p>
	<p>The vehicle information display offers drivers a wide range of customization options, from a basic digital speed read out to specific vehicle status information. Operation of the display is clearly communicated to users with easy-to-understand icons and instructions. Using buttons on the steering wheel, drivers can customize the screen with as much or as little information as they desire. The system is intuitive and can be arranged for a variety of views. Up to three analog vehicle status gauges can be added to the display.</p>

As the Ram 1500 continues to offer more feature content, it created the need for a technology that allows more information to be electronically communicated within the truck. The new Powernet system, used for the first time on a Ram 1500, allows both high- and low-speed data networks to be equipped with as many as 40 individual modules, all designed to improve vehicle performance and enhance the comfort and safety of driver and passengers. Within the Powernet high-speed network, each module (e.g., electronic stability control) processes its individual data and transmits the appropriate commands within the vehicle to activate any additional systems (e.g. anti-lock brake system and cruise control). Uconnect leverages Powernet to deliver fast response time, and share critical information between the 8.4-inch touchscreen and the vehicle information center. On the safety and security front, the Ram 1500 offers more than 45 active and passive safety and security features, including standard front airbags, front and rear side-curtain air bags and seatmounted side pelvic-thorax air bags with Enhanced Accident Response System, knee bolsters, seatbelt pretensioners, BeltAlert® System; and available adjustable pedals, ParkSense® rear park assist and ParkView® rear back-up camera. The 2013 Ram 1500 also includes standard electronic stability control (ESC), hosting a number of technologies including all-speed traction control, trailer-sway control, Hill-start Assist and anti-lock brake system (ABS).</p>
	<p>The new 2013 Ram 1500 now features available Keyless Enter &#8216;n Go technology, which allows the doors to be unlocked and the vehicle ignition to be started without having to touch the key fob. Also new for 2013, remote central locking includes the RamBox® cargo management system and tailgate power locks, creating a convenient solution for locking down the truck with the push of a button. An available remote start feature allows a driver to start their vehicle from up to 300 feet away. Door controls, illuminated entry, engine immobilizer and panic alert are standard features with the Keyless Enter &#8216;n Go system. Auto rain-sensing wipers and SmartBeam® also find their way into the feature availability list, adding to a truckload of content offered in the new 2013 Ram 1500.</p>

For 2013, Ram 1500 customers can enjoy the convenience of power folding mirrors and a<br />
combination power and rear-sliding window with defrost. Also available is a new six-foot-four-inch bed option on the Crew Cab model, allowing for maximum passenger and bed hauling capability.</p>

The 2013 Ram 1500 is backed with a best-in-class 5-year / 100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited<br />
Warranty. The Powertrain Limited Warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair a covered powertrain component – engine, transmission and drive system. Coverage also includes free towing to the nearest Ram dealer, if necessary. The warranty also is transferable allowing customers who sell their truck during the warranty period, to pass the coverage onto the new owner.</p>

For example, the RTS recreates the abuse a truck endures at the hands of a 95th percentile driver – meaning someone who drives the vehicle in more severe conditions than 95 percent of all customers. 	<p>Here are the first pics of the &#8216;Altitude&#8217; limited edition versions of three Jeep models: <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+grand+cherokee">Grand Cherokee</a>, <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+compass">Compass</a> and <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+patriot">Patriot</a>. The three popular off-roaders from the American manufacturer get a slew of blackened details and are inspired by the Compass and Grand Cherokee production-intent sports concept that were showcased at the latest <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/2012+geneva+motor+show">Geneva Motor Show</a>. </p>
	<p>Even though the main color of the bodywork can be chosen by the buyer, other elements such as front grille, head-lamps outlines, alloys and a few bits in the cabin will come in black only. This move will provide the car with a strong and sporty contrast with any color the client might go for (apart from black, of course). Jeep hasn&#8217;t specified whether this special range will also be made available on this side of the pond, so for now we can just cross our fingers and hope for the best. </p>

	<p>The few cosmtic upgrades that were introduced just a few months ago did not prevent Mercedes from coming up with a new and more heavy restyling of its <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/mercedes+glk">GLK</a>. The front end gets LED stripes, a new fascia (which now will be the same for both &#8217;standard&#8217; and &#8216;offroad&#8217; versions) and a slimmer design for the head-lights. More LED technology can be found on the tail-lights and for the plate illumination, while the longitudinal bars are now more streamlined and aerodynamically efficient. The new GLK will also use a new range of 17&#8243;, 19&#8243; and 20&#8243; alloys.</p>
	<p>The dashboard is enriched with wood and aluminum inserts and has a design that is somewhat reminiscent of the latest B-Class, while the lever commanding the 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox is now located right behind the steering wheel. The engine range is made of 4 diesel and one petrol options: the latter is a 3.5-litre V6 delivering 306 hp (for the GLK 350 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY), whille on the diesel side we have a 2.2-litre unit available in powersteps of 143 hp (for the GLK 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY), 170 hp (for the GLK 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY) and 204 hp (for the GLK 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC, with twin turbo) and a 265 hp 3.0-litre V6 (for the GLK 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY).</p>
	<p>Both 200 CDI and 220 CDI versions will also be made available with manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. In Germany the cost of this new GLK range will go from the 36.235€ of the GLK 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY to the 50.099 € of the GLK 350 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY. The model should make its official debut at the next 2012 New York International Motor Show (April 6-15).</p>

	<p>The commercial starring the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/chevrolet+silverado">Chevrolet Silverado</a> that will be broadcasted tonight during the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/xlvi+superbowl+ads">XLVI SuperBowl</a> is set in sort of post-apocalyptic scenario, where the pick-up truck from Chevy emerges from a pile of rubble and begins traveling through the ruins of town with a pale gray sky and fuming volcanos in the background. The ad is obviously focusing on toughness and vigour of the model, and is scheduled to air during the first quarter of the game. </p>
	<p>The Chevrolet Silverado is powered by a 6.6-litre V8 Duramax engine that develops 370 hp and allows this heavy beast to reach 100km/h (62 mph) from standstill in less than 9 seconds. The vehicle comes with a Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission, which is replaced by a Hydra Matic gearbox on the less powerful 6-litre V8. The Silverado has been designed to deliver in any situation and weather condition, to the point that it can be switched on even at -30 degrees. </p>

	<p>Fiat introduces the new &#8216;<a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/fiat+strada">Strada</a>&#8216;, an upgrade of its little pickup truck assembled at their plant in Betim, Brazil. The model will become available in Europe in a matter of days and is meant to be first and foremost a commercial vehicle, but nonetheless it can be used outside work too. The Fiat Strada measures 4.41 meters in length (4.46 for the Adventureversion), 1.66 in width (1.74 m) and wheelbase of 2.72 meters, whereas its loading area is 1,685 mm long and 1,300 mm wide in its &#8217;standard&#8217; configuration. The variant with the long cabin instead will have a cargo area measuring 1,332 x 1,070 millimeters.</p>
	<p>The Strada weighs 1,915 kg, can tow up to a ton and - driver included - can carry between 630 and 705 kg. The range includes three trim variants (Working, Trekking and Adventure) and three body-types (with short, long and double cabin), all of which will come with a 1.3-litre Multijet engine producing 95 hp and 200 Nm of torque from 1,500 rpm, with an average fuel consumption rated at about 5.3 l/100km. In its basic version, the Fiat Strada comes with a whole new instrumentation, ABS and (for Trekking and Adventure variants only) a steering wheel adjustable in height. The Adventure can be recognized by its black grille with chrome inserts and by its foglights integrated in the front fascia. Its standard features also include air conditioner, leather seats with special 205/65 R15 all-terrain tyres and E-Locker (Electronic Locking Differential), which improves the car&#8217;s performance on low-grip surfaces and includes compass and inclinometer.</p>
	<p>All versions will also come with standard audio system and CD player, clima, sunroof, alloy wheels. Fiat has also released to official prices (before taxes) for the Italian market: the basic Fiat Strada with Working trim and single cabin will cost 12,900 €, while at the top of the range we have the Strada Advenure with double cabin, priced at 16,000 €.</p>

	<p>Jeep presents the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+wrangler+arctic">Wrangler “Arctic”</a>, a new special version of its popular offroader featuring a unique winter-themed exterior and interior design. The new &#8216;Arctic&#8217; edition was firstly unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show, last November, but Chrysler has recently and officially confirmed that the model will soon come to Europe too, also announcing a starting price of 36,850 €.  This new version of the <a href="http://www.eurocarblog.com/tag/jeep+wrangler">Wrangler</a> will be available in three different exterior colors - Bright White, Bright Silver and Winter Chill - and comes with black 17&#8243; wheels fitted with 32&#8243; tyres, color matching hardtop and fender flares, dedicated “Arctic” badges and decals, air conditioner, sat-nav, multi-functional steering wheel, and a few bits coming from Mopar (the special parts and service arm of the Chrysler Group), such as fuel cap and tail lamp guards.</p>
	<p>Inside, the seats use black Tectonic fabric with Polar White accents and orange stitching. Front seats are heated and feature &#8216;Arctic&#8217; logos in the seat back. Accent stitching can also be found on steering wheel, arm rest and console lid. Door trim and nets are also accented in orange, while all handles and dashboard vent rings are finished in Polar White trim. Exclusive Mopar rubber carmats with &#8216;Jeep&#8217; logos complete the interior of the model. The Jeep Wrangler Arctic also comes with an EVIC on-board computer, cruise control, the vocally controlled Bluetooth UConnect Phone system with UCI, UConnect GPS with radio/CD/DVD/MP3/WMA player, USB dock, a 30 GByte hard-disk and a 6,5” touch screen. </p>
	<p>The &#8216;Arctic&#8217; trim joins the other three well known &#8216;Sport&#8217;, &#8216;Sahara&#8217; and &#8216;Rubicon&#8217; versions, and will be available for both 2- (Jeep Wrangler), and 4-door configurations (Jeep Wrangler Unlimited), equipped with a supercharged 2.8-litre CRD diesel unit delivering 200hp at 3,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 460 Nm between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. However, in 2012, a new engine options will be made available for the whole range in the form of a Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 petrol unit producing 285 hp and 353 Nm of peak torque. Moreover, for refined shifting and greater performance, the Jeep Wrangler migrates from a 4-speed to a new 5-speed automatic transmission, making it the first Jeep model to apply a manual gearbox to the Pentastar V6. Other remarkable features include the standard all-wheel drive part-time Command-Trac NV241, Dana 30 front axle and Dana 44 rear axle, that allows for maximum off-road performance. In spite of the name, the &#8216;Arctic&#8217; has not been given any specialized equipment for sub-zero traveling.</p>
