The good people from German tuner Senner Tuning are mostly known for their work on cars coming from their own homeland, but this time they turned their attention to a jap, the Nissan Juke crossover, and the result is this cool rendition dubbed ‘Candy-Red Tzunamee’. As the name suggests, the model comes with a flashy red paint scheme completed by a bright set of color matching 20″ alloys as well as a pair of wing mirrors made of carbon fibre.

The bright red theme continues in the passenger compartment, where the logo of the tuner can be spotted here and there. Captivating look aside, the most relevant changes are those who affected the mechanical part: the standard 1.6-litre unit of the Juke is credited with an output of about 190 hp with 240 Nm of peak torque, but the modifications performed by Senner Tuner boosted that up to 225 hp with 275 Nm of maximum torque. At the moment, the price-tag for this model is still undisclosed.

Remember the Nissan Juke-R, the experiment of automotive engineering that has transformed the tame Juke into a monster with 545 hp capable of reaching a speed of 257 km/h? After presenting it in Dubai, the Japanese carmaker decided to produce the super crossover in very limited edition at a price of around £365,000.

The website Inside Line has quoted David Reuter, vice president of Nissan Americas, who explained how the model will be produced on a build-to-order basis at a cost of $ 590,000. “It is intended for serious collectors and investors who want to own a true original, an innovative project that will only be created in extremely small numbers.”

The Juke’s body was heavily modified to accommodate the engine and chassis of the supercar Nissan GT-R my2012. The first models will be delivered late this summer.

Nissan will produce a limited edition of the Juke-R with improved mechanical features, compared to the first prototypes. The 2007 Nissan GT-R twin-turbo V6 engine with output of 485hp that was fitted on the concept cars will be replaced with the upgraded unit mounted on the GT-R my2012 and capable of delivering an impressive 545hp.

The Juke-R with 485hp covered the 0-100Km/h in 3.7 seconds with a maximum speed of 257km/h: Nissan officially confirmed the top speed data; however, it never validated the acceleration figures that should be, strictly speaking, lower. Besides the engine, the production version of the Juke-R will sport a new gearbox and will use the same drivetrain and chassis of the powerful GT-R my2012, to make the most of the extra 60hp.

Nissan has decided to create a limited edition after the amazing reaction the car had during the presentation in Dubai, where the Japanese carmaker has already received three orders that will be shipped by the end of summer. Nissan will be launching an all-new model next summer, to mark the 30th anniversary of the Sentra in the U.S. The saloon is based on the Nissan Sylphy, a concept car displayed at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, and will be sold on the global market by 2013. The teaser video shows just a few images of the seventh-generation Sentra, without revealing too many details.

Like the Sylphy Concept, the Sentra is a compact saloon and will be the third of five new models that Nissan wants to introduce on the U.S. market within the next 15 months. The other two cars arriving in the U.S. during summer will be the new Pathfinder and the new Altima, followed by other two new models that will be released later in 2013.

By 2013 Nissan will have refreshed three-quarters of the models available on the American market, attracting new customers into showrooms and rewarding loyal owners of the Japanese brand.

Nissan is also at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show to present the NV200 Taxi, which was premiered at the New York International Auto Show a few weeks ago. Just to put it into the right perspective, let us remind you that the Japanese carmaker has been selected to be the new NYC official taxi supplier starting next year, and therefore that plenty of these vehicles will be haunting the Big Apple for the following 10 years, so you better get used to it.

The NV200 comes with a low-emission 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine and has been designed to accommodate up to 4 passenger (not including the cab-driver) and their luggage. Among its most remarkable features there are the sliding doors, sunroof, a two-zone air-con (one for each row of seats), 6-way adjustable seats, USB and 12V recharging ports, integrated sat-nav, front and rear-seat occupant curtain airbags and the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system.

Nissan has presented the Sylphy Concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, a midsize saloon that will debut later this year in China. The car anticipates some features of the Nissan Sentra that will be launched in the U.S. during summer and could also arrive in Europe.

The Japanese saloon stands out for its classic and simple outline, boasting some stylish details and a refined interior. The front is dominated by LED daytime running lights with additional chrome trim that add character to the car. The interior is finished with high quality materials and Nissan has worked very hard during development to achieve excellent spaciousness and a good acoustic comfort.

The Sylphy Concept is the result of a close collaboration between Nissan and Dongfeng, which has plans to expand its global sales and to conquer over 120 markets by the end of 2014. The prototype is powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine mated to a next-generation Xtronic CVT automatic transmission.

Nissan Chief Creative Officer has revealed that “with 370Z, we still don’t know next generation will have a larger or smaller engine”. The idea is to conform to the leading manufacturers’ plan of downsizing car engines capacity. Shiro Nakamura, interviewed by Drive site, admitted to prefer “smaller sports car” and stated that size reduction is a priority, especially for those vehicles intended for a sportier and more demanding use.

Nakamura has also revealed a possible revival of the Silvia, a compact coupe smaller than the 370Z, which will compete in the same small sports car segment of Toyota GT 86 and Subaru BRZ. “I cannot say- said the designer very discretely -Sports car is a core of Nissan. We … really we have to sit down and work out what the future sports car should be for us. If there is a market we will do it. ”

Nissan will introduce a restyled version of its 370Z at the imminent 2012 Chicago Auto Show (February 10-19) and, as the tradition dictates, the carmaker has just released on the web a large photo gallery starring the new car. The model - firstly introduced at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show - receives some small cosmetic upgrade but no relevant changes to its powertrain, which was excellent in the first place anyway.

The ‘cosmetic upgrades’ of this face-lifted version are the new LED stripes integrated in the front bumper, the addition of new 18″ and 19″ alloys to the previous range and some more color option for the livery, that’s it. Just like the model it is about to replace, the restyled 370Z will be available in both coupe and roadster body types, and will come with its signature 3.7-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine credited with an output of 328 hp. This unit can be coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

A few days ago, at the Dubai International Marine Club, Nissan arranged a quite interesting little challenge featuring its much-hyped Juke-R (the model that hosts a GT-R engine in a Juke’s body) and three well-established supercars: the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Mercedes SLS AMG. This curious race - which took place on a short and narrow course laid out in the streets of Dubai - ended with a quite surprising result, although it must be considered that the particular features of the improvised circuit did not help some of the cars to fully express their mind-blowing potential.

The Juke-R is the outcome of the collaboration between Nissan and specialist Ray Mallock Ltd. and - thanks to the 485 hp of its impressive 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 - is capable of reaching 100 km/h (62mph) from standstill in just 3.7 seconds, hitting a maximum speed of 257 km/h (160 mph). The model is not meant for production and is used as a show car at the various Nissan’s events around the globe.

Nissan presents the new Note model year 2012. The compact MPV launched by the Japanese manufacturer in 2006 gets new accessories and upgraded finishing, while its engine range is basically the same, with two petrol and one diesel options: the entry level unit is a 1.4-litre gasoline delivering 88 hp and 128 Nm of peak torque, then we have a 1.6-litre producing 110 hp and 153 Nm of torque with average fuel consumption of 6.6l/100 km, and finally the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine with 90 hp and 200 Nm of torque, that boasts a fuel consumption of just 4.2 l/100 km.

The ‘Acenta’ version will come with 16″ two-tone rims in place of the 15″ set of the previous version, and will have chrome accents for both fog-lights and wing mirror shells. The cabin gets refreshed by a new set of fabrics, new blue cross-stitching finishing and the addition of climate control and automatic headlights, now listed as standard equipment. The oddly called ‘N-Tec+’ trim also gets the same upgrade, with also rear parking sensors, privacy glass and Nissan’s “Connect” touch-screen satellite navigation to top it off. The latter also allows for iPod, Usb, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity, providing the new Note with the necessary modern-day technology. Over 100,000 British buyers have already taken Note of Nissan’s UK-built supermini-MPV. To ensure its continuing popularity with buyers it’s receiving further upgrades for 2012.

The first noteworthy news is an increase in equipment and style for the popular Acenta model. On the outside are new ‘diamond cut’ two-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, replacing the original 15 inchers. Add in chrome-effect door mirror covers and front fog light surrounds and the exterior changes become even more noticeable.

A new seat fabric with blue stitching is used to provide a more premium interior feel, while climate control, automatic headlights and rain-sensitive wipers all now come as standard.

Moving up the range, the best-selling N-TEC has been upgraded too. In addition to the Acenta specification, the new N-TEC+ incorporates rear parking sensors to help keep the bodywork scuff-free. As with the N-TEC, darkened rear privacy glass and the touch screen ‘Connect’ satellite navigation system also feature.

The ‘Connect’ system additionally provides a full digital music connectivity package with built in CD/radio, iPod gateway, Aux-in, USB connection and Bluetooth phone connection.

Despite all this equipment, buyers can own a Note for less notes than might be expected. Prices start at £11,200 for the Visia, with the new Acenta at £13,000 and the new N-TEC+ a further £500. This makes it a real alternative to less practical superminis.

The engine line-up continues with the 1.4, 1.6 petrol and 1.5dCi power units. The Pure Drive badged 1.5dCi emits a CO2 level of just 110g/km with a combined economy figure of 67.3mpg.

The first of the new Notes will reach dealers in early February.

Nissan Motor Company has officially confirmed that the calendar year 2011 has been the best ever in terms of sales in Europe for the group, with 695,702 sold units. The Japanese carmaker registered a +25% sales over the previous record year, in 2010, beating that result by more than 140,000 vehicles. Moreover, Nissan’s average market share in Europe over the January-December period was 3.7% - yet another record - and surpassed the 2010 share by 0.6%, out-selling its 2010 total in each month of 2011.

Commenting on the achievement, Nissan’s Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing in Europe, Mr. Paul Willcox, stated:

“Despite the significant challenges we faced in 2011, including the devastating earthquake in Japan, Nissan has never been stronger in Europe. We are already established as the top Asian brand in key markets including the UK, France, Italy and Spain. This performance is being driven by segment-defining models designed, engineered and built in Europe, for Europe. Overall, Nissan produces around 70% of vehicles sold within the region at plants in the UK, Spain and Russia, this ensures our line-up is attuned to European expectations in terms of style, quality, performance and reliability.”

The main contributors to this result were the crossover models: the Qashqai achieved more than 250,000 sales while the Juke managed to sell over 123,000 units in its first full year of production. The little Micra also played its part, with sales in excess of 75,000 cars. As for the single markets, the most outstanding result has been obtained
in Russia, where Nissan recorded a +75% (+60,000 sales) over the previous year. Also worth mentioning are the increases registered in other key markets: +31% in France, +18% in Germany, +18% in Italy and +11% in the UK.

Nissan unveils the Nismo March Concept at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon, currently taking place in the Japanese capital. This spiced-up version of the popular minicar (a.k.a. Micra in several markets) is the third compact model to get administered the Nismo treatment after the Juke and the LEAF.

Nissan did not reveal much about the model in terms of mechanical modifications, just confirming the addition of not-better-specified ‘Nismo exclusive parts’ as well as high-performance suspension and large-diameter lightweight wheels. However, we can notice a newly designed front grille, different wing mirrors and the presence of several aerodynamic parts, most notably the rear spoiler. Besides, the car comes with the usual pearl white body/red inserts combination that is becoming Nismo’s signature color scheme.

Nissan Unveils March Nismo Concept

YOKOHAMA, Japan (January 13, 2012)- Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today revealed the March Nismo Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon 2012. This surprise unveiling marks the third premium sports compact released from Nismo, following on the Juke Nismo Concept and the LEAF Nismo Concept.

Based on the Nissan March and fitted with Nismo exclusive parts, the March Nismo Concept is an expression of how a premium sports compact can marry practicality with exciting driving performance.

The concept’s exterior features a lower stance and bolder styling thanks to a modified front grille design and the addition of dedicated, efficiency-enhancing aeroparts that were developed as part of Nismo’s racing technology. Additionally, the door mirror design has been tailored, and a rear lip spoiler added, to further enhance the car’s aerodynamic performance.

In the interior, Nismo’s purpose-designed seats and steering wheel have been adopted to aid smooth interaction between the driver and the car.

The March Nismo Concept is painted pearl white with red highlights, the signature Nismo colors for performance-focused premium sports models, similar to the Juke Nismo Concept.
