The Peugeot 4007 - the SUV from the Lion’s Lair developed jointly with Mitsubishi - will receive a mid-career restyling before the end of the year. The updated 4007 could be unveiled in September, on the occasion of the next Frankfurt Auto Show. At the same time, at the German festival the restyled Citroen C-Crosser could be presented, which, like the 4007, was also born from the Mitsubishi Outlander. The biggest change in the two French SUVs will be the adoption of the new 3.0-liter V6 HDi engine with 240 hp which just made its debut under the hoods of the Citroen C5 and the C6.

I’ll admit that when I first saw this car, I didn’t know which was the front and which was the back! But the Mitsubishi I-MIEV Sport Air prototype has a cute look and it’s all ecological. This little car is equipped with an 82hp electric motor, with lithium ion batteries. And it’s looking pretty in blue.

First impression: at least we won’t be seeing this in Italy in the short term. Second impression: finally some different form compared to the rough, but functional, Mitsubishi flagship. The Japanese manufacturer will present the new Pajero Sport at the Moscow show (from August 24 to September 7), where the elegant offroad should see itself in the local market.
Fruit of the amalgamation between a dynamic and sporty style, with spacious and practical interior, the Pajero Sport will be offered with three different engine choices: two diesels at 2.5 and 3.2 litres with common rail system, and a V6 3.5 petrol engine. The traction has been inherited from the Super Select 4WD, and will show off Mitsubishi’s rallying experience.

The Franco-Japanese alliance is proceeding, giving fruit to new projects: after cooking up a SUV family of medium-big size, Mitsubishi and Citroen/Peugeot are reported to be in negotiations to expand their collaboration.
The new product, based on the more compact dimensions and showy personality of the Concept cX, would be different in order to create aesthetically diverse cars. The cleaner 1.8 diesel (with 134 and 280 Nm) seen on the prototype would most likely be used on the series, perhaps together with the SST shift and double clutch.
