In reading the numbers we’re asking ourselves what its limit is, or even if it has one. Coming from the parentage of the “SV”, this is a car with a pedigree capable of stirring emotions only talking about it. According to announcements from Autocar, the photographs are the best example that Lamborghini is continuing to develop its SV of the Murcielago, destined to give birth once again to the splendour of Miura and Diablo. We had already discussed this thanks to sightings from the Nurburging in May 2007, but silence following this had made us lose hope.
“Rest In Peace”, Gallardo Superleggera. We unite in the memory, marking the end (perhaps even premature) of a superior coupé: Lamborghini has announced it will be closing down production of the Gallardo Superleggera, in preparation for the debut of the new LP560-4.
The 172 units manufactured have become cult objects, especially in the “untraceable” white colour, ordered by only ten customers. The other colours (34 grey, 37 black and 45 yellow) were dominated by orange with 46 cars, where some customers were happy with their own originality.

We pretty much know everything about the Lamborghini Reventón (in short - 650hp, 340 km/hr, 0-100km/hr in 3.4 seconds, all-wheel drive, E-gear shift and one million euro), but if anything was missing it was these lovely official photos that give a beautiful view of the Italian supercar.
Here is the Lamborghini press release that provides a gallery of new shots from the outside to the cabin, details and the Reventón in movement.
What to say: a sight for sore eyes!

Of sure effect is this first official video of the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560/4 that the company presented at the beginning of March in Geneva.
The images (which are truly beautiful and studied down to the last detail) are dominated by black and white with the whole package being accompanied by impressive audio. The video does nothing but to exalt the pureness of this splendid supercar’s line that has left us all in agreement on its unquestionable beauty.
Thanks to our reader bugatti&91.
Stephan Winkelmann in the ufficial video of the Gallardo 560/4, explains how this version came to be defined as the “baby” Lamborghini, at a maximum speed of 203 mph (324.8km/hr) and an acceleratioon of 0-100km/hr in 3.7 seconds. Shift time has been reduced by 40%, the weight decreased by 20kg despite the new V10 being brought to 5.2 litres, and CO2 emissions decreased by 18%.
From the video it’s understood that the LP560/4 is not the last special version of the Gallardo, but represents the new model and therefore the new entry-level of the bull. The news will certainly leave its mark from the moment in which 560 bhp becomes the minimum for driving a Lambo. The exclusive Gallardo Superleggera is definitely fading to the background after only a year since the launch.
Thanks to “FAST AND FURIOUS___rapido e furioso” for the indication

What effect would there be in combining the explosive bodywork of a panther with the vigorous skeleton of a bull? Stefan Schulze, brave German designer, has created a re-edition of the legendary De Tomaso, placing a fantastic body-work on the mechanics of a Lamborghini Gallardo. The result? Judge for yourselves.
The De Tomaso Panthera concept , unfortunately still in a digital dress, is reportedly to have already been proposed by Schulze to some investors, hoping to create the nostalgia needed to finance construction of the car.

The first spy-shots and scans of official photos of the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560/4 have started appearing almost simultaneously on the net.
The LP560/4 is the facelifted version of the Gallardo, with an updated exterior, a V10 engine that now outputs 560 ps, weight reduced by 20 kg and revised gearbox, 4WD and brakes.

If the Aston Martin DBS was fairly deservedly cut to shreds in the latest annual appointment of the Evo Car of the Year, then the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera did not fare much better with the judges, surprising given the high expectations surrounding the car from Sant’Agata Bolognese. The callous sneering in the Porsche and Ferrari camps was easy to imagine.
To quench these flames of derision, Lamborghini are said to be approaching completion of an ambitious upgrade project on the Gallardo, transforming it into what will be known as the Gallardo LP550, widely predicted to be unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show. A stupendous piece of news, so unexpected that we are still trying to savour the mind-blowing specifications: The 5.2-liter V10 engine of the Gallardo will be modified using the experience gained by Audi technicians working on the V8 engine of the Audi RS4 and R8 models. The engine should deliver a maximum power output of 550 ps (hence the name) and a maximum torque equal to 530 Nm.
It is not only the engine that will receive improvements. The transmission (both the manual gearbox and the e-gear sequential gearbox) will be capable of handling more power and torque, while the permanent 4-wheel-drive system will also be optimised and lightened. To finish off this ‘come-back’ package, the brake system and body will also undergo minor alterations.

A nice video of prototypes caught testing at the Nurburgring. Among others, you can see a new Cadillac, a couple of Lamborghinis (Gallardo and Murcielago LP640) , the Audi R8, the Maserati due-porte, and the BMW 1-Series Cabrio.
The most impressive ? The supposed Panamera Mule with the BMW M5 body and with extra-wide wheel arches. What kind of engine is lurking under the trunk to push it around like that ?
Italian car fans had their ears pricked up when voices started circling about Audi’s supposed intentions to sell the Sant’Agata Bolognese, since many suspect that Lambo is not being allowed to fulfill its potential by teaming it up too closely with Audi.
After Auto Motor und Sports published an article about this possibility, Audi categorically denied all rumours: Lamborghini is not for sale, and the rumous have been defined as the equivalent of an April fool’s day joke.
