New video dedicated to the flagship Jaguar: the XJ. In the clip the narrator talks us through the innovative technologies behind the creation of the next generation of the iconic British car, symbol of luxury and comfort.

The Jaguar F-Type made its debut on video. In the footage the new compact sports car is entirely camouflaged, but gives the viewers a glimpse of the future shape and silhouette.

The video is presented by TV commentator and former Formula 1 driver, Martin Brundle. The prototype shown is equipped with a supercharged V6 engine likely to be coupled to an automatic transmission. The Jaguar F-Type has been developed to deliver “stunning sports car performance” and to give the driver a unique driving feeling.

Jaguar will return in the two-seater sports car segment after 20 years of absence; the latest models produced were the XJ220 and the XJR-15 in the 90s. The car will be featuring a newly designed aluminum chassis and will be based on the C-X16 concept. The Jaguar F-Type will be constructed in the Castle Bromwich’ plant; the convertible version could be on the market in mid 2013.

Carscoop has published unofficial rendered images of the Jaguar F-Type. Only a few days ago the English sports car was been unveiled to the public in a two minutes video, still completely disguised. Thanks to the footage with commentary by Martin Brundle, however, it was possible to observe the general outline of the car, powered by a supercharged V6 engine. The final version, that will go into production later this year, will be featuring an all-aluminum chassis, and a convertible design directly derived from the C-X16 concept. It will be built in the factory of Castle Bromwich, and could make its debut as early as 2013.

Jaguar introduces to the world its brand new XF Sportbrake at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, a station wagon version of the XF that measures 4.96 meters in length and is 70 kg heavier than its saloon counterpart. The model boasts a very elegant and streamlined design that uses a very stylish solution for the C-pillar, whose presence is hidden by a gloss matt finishing that makes it almost invisible. This solution also emphasizes the chrome outline of the glazing, while the rear end gets an extra touch of modernity thanks to the LED technology adopted for the tail lights.

The capacity of its trunk varies from 550 to 1,675 litres (with the rear bench folded). The model will make its debut on the market with an engine line-up made of diesel options only: a 2.2-litre delivering 190 hp and a 3.0 V6 available in two power steps: 240 and 275 hp (for the ‘S’ version). Later on another unit will join the fold in the form of a 5.0-litre V8 producing 510 hp (for the “R” version), that will sit at top of the range.

Making is European debut at the Swiss event is also the beautiful XKR-S Cabriolet, which comes with specifically developed aerodynamics, dedicated set-up, carbon fibre trim, electronically adjustable sports seats and 20″ alloy wheels fitted with 255/35 and 295/30 tyres. This model is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 with volumetric supercharger that produces an output of 550 hp, making it the fastest Convertible GT model ever produced by the British manufacturer. The XKR-S Cabriolet can go from standstill to 100 km/h (96 mph) in just 4.4 seconds, with a self-imposed toop speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). The model uses a 6-speed automatic transmission with an electronically controlled limited slip differential and weighs only 1795 kg, thanks to the large use of aluminum for its chassis. In an attempt to make its XF more appealing to a wider share of the market, Jaguar has officially confirmed that a version of the model equipped with a more cost-effective diesel unit will soon join the current line up. The new entry-level variant will be powered by the same 2.2-litre 4-cylinder unit (of Peugeot-Citroen heritage) that is already part of the XF engine range in a 190 hp configuration, but its output will be downgraded to 163 hp.

In terms of sheer performance, the gap between this new powertrain and the 190 hp version is quite significant: the former boasts a 0-100km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 9.8 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph), whereas the latter does the 0-100 km/h in just 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 225 km/h (140 mph). Both units are coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission - courtesy of German specialist ZF - and come with start-stop system, while average fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures are identical: 5,4 l/100 km and 149 g/km respectively. GREATER VALUE, SAME EFFICIENCY: NEW 163 PS XF 2.2 DIESEL GOES ON SALE

A new 163 PS version of the popular and highly efficient XF powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, is set to be launched aimed at delivering greater value than ever before.

Drawing on the strengths of the existing 190PS model, an example of which recently crossed the United States averaging 62.9 mpg, the new, lower output derivative of the 2.2-litre engine will mean the XF range now starts at £29,950 OTR.

Despite the lower starting price the new model features an extensive range of standard equipment including suedecloth and leather seats, a touch screen centrally mounted display, electronic climate control and an advanced 8-speed gearbox complete with automatic Stop-Start.

The XF 2.2D 163 PS is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 62mph in 9.8 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 130 mph. On the combined cycle it can achieve 52.3 mpg and it emits 149 g/km of CO2.

Jaguar dealers are taking orders for the new car now ahead of the first deliveries taking place in March.

The XF continues to enjoy a strong following in the UK having won over 80 awards since it was launched in 2008. Since then it’s been subject to a relentless programme of engineering and aesthetic enhancements. The 12MY XF is the most efficient and best equipped iteration yet with diverse range encompassing the highly efficient new 163 PS 2.2-litre Diesel model, up to the performance-focussed XFR, equipped with a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine producing a mighty 510 PS.

German aftermarket company Startech presents a quite interesting tuning and accessories program dedicated to the Jaguar XJ, inclusive of aerodynamic body-kit, customized 21″ forged wheels and several refinement options for the cabin. The body-kit comprises a re-designed front-bumper featuring LED day lights integrated into the air intakes, larger fenders with integrated air outlets, side sills, a tiny rear spoiler and a rear bumper with integrated diffuser hosting a pair of stainless-steel mufflers.

In contrast with the shiny black of the exterior, inside we find a cream-colored all-leather upholstery for seats, panels, sides of the central console and some detail of the steering wheel. The central console in particular is an addition made by Startech, featuring large storage compartments and lights on the sides that illuminate the floor in front of the rear seats.

Startech electronics specialists have also developed a multimedia system centered on an Apple iPad. Electrically deployed tables feature custom-tailored recesses for the tablet computer and the Bluetooth keyboard from Apple. A 20 MBit/s GSM modem with hidden aerial provides high-speed internet connection via EDGE, HSDPA or HSPA+ protocols, allowing more than one passengers to communicate online at the same time using a WLAN network available in and around the car.

Jaguar releases yet another image (or Christmas card) of the same XF Sportbrake mule we have seen a while ago, still wearing some heavy camouflage on the rear half in an attempt to hide the newly designed rear end, which is likely to feature re-designed tail lights and a customized hatch. The front end will benefit from the recent restyling of the Jaguar XF range, while the powertrain should be left untouched too.

The engine range of the XF should also be the same: 4 and 6-cylinder diesel units as well as 8-cylinder petrol engines, including the 510 hp version of the XFR. Apparently, the XF Sportbrake should be officially unveiled at the next Geneva Motor Show.

Jaguar released a couple of spy shots (although this might not be the proper name for these images, given the source) picturing a mule of the Jaguar XF Sportbrake. The move comes as a sort of official confirmation that a station wagon version of the XF is actually in the plans of the British carmaker. The model is expected to make its debut at the next Geneva Motor Show and will take on the likes of Bmw 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class in a segment that often sees estate cars sell more than the sedan models they derives from.

Jaguar XF SportBrake is already the definitive name of the car (as sported on the sides of the pictured mule) which is likely to adopt the same engine range of its saloon counterpart, featuring both diesel and petrol units with 4, 6 and 8 cylinders, although it is fair to say that a sporty version based on the XFR and equipped the same turbocharged 5.0-litre V8 engine is quite likely to surface as well at a later time. Judging by these two shots, the design of the car seems to be pretty slim, with front headlights shaped as the saloon version.

Regardless of the color of its livery or the Motor Show they take it to, there can be no denial that Jaguar C-X16 Concept is always an absolutely gorgeous car. Following a bunch of snapshots taken live at the Los Angeles Auto Show - that we published a couple of days ago - here is the official photo gallery featuring the same C-X16 in a white dress displayed at the Californian event.

As previously reported, the British carmaker confirmed that the model will soon enter into production, but plans for the possible inclusion of an hybrid powertrain in its engine range - as prospected in Frankfurt at C-X16’s official unveiling, back in September - might be put on hold for a while. Rumor has it that the model will eventually adopt the commercial name ‘XE’ and cost between 70,000 and 80,000 €.

Jaguar released the first official video starring the new XKR-S Convertible. The footage shows the latest output from the British manufacturer (currently on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show) taking on Nurburgring North Course during its final stage of development, giving us the chance to hear its massive roar.

The new Jaguar model is pushed by a new supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque coupled with a a 6-speed automatic transmission. Performance figures of the XKR-S Convertible are 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.4 seconds and top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). The lap time clocked by the car at the famous German circuit has not been revealed.

In comparison to what we saw at the last Frankfurt Motor Show, just the color of the livery has changed - going from metallic gray to white - but it’s the only thing. The Jaguar C-X16 prototype currently on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show is exactly the same model showcased at the German event, with no significant modification. Regardless, it is a beauty.

The complete name of this model is Jaguar C-X16 Production Concept, implying that this is the basis on which the British manufacturer is working in view of the future lunch of a luxury coupe.

Design Director Ian Callum confirmed that on behalf of the Coventry-based carmaker, adding that the model will be an hybrid vehicle equipped with a 3.0 V6 engine as well as an electric unit whose combined power should be around the 380 hp figure. The model will also make use of an 8-speed transmission. Jaguar also released some indicative performance figures: 0-100 km/h acceleration (0-62 mph) comes in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed of about 300 km/h (185 mph). Besides, the C-X16 should be able to travel up to 50 mph under electric power alone.

In comparison to the old XK, the model boasts the same differences of the coupe version it derives from, meaning new aerodynamics, dedicated setting, 20″ alloys (fitted with 255/35 and 295/30 tyres) carbon fibre inserts in the cabin with electronically adjustable racing seats and, especially, the new supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. With a limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) and a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.4 seconds, the XKR-S Cabriolet is the fastest convertible model ever produced by Jaguar. The car uses a 6-speed automatic transmission, limited slip differential and (thanks to the intensive use of aluminum) weighs only 1,795 kg.

In order to handle all this power, the frame has been strengthened in the rear suspension area - which is different from the XKR-S Coupe - so that torsional stiffness can reach 16.500 Nm/Rad, which is an excellent value for this type of car. At the moment there is no information about price and availability of this model, which will be revealed to the European public ant the next Geneva Motor Show in March 2012.
